Autumnal Blessings!

When the Day and night are equal.
The scales are still. At this threshold, I honor the turning of the Wheel
I give thanks for the harvest and I do not cling to the light.
I do not fear its leaving. For I know what waits in the night.
The darkness is ancient. It is a womb, a threshold
So I step willingly into the dark, with the ancient and old
I enter without fear, with open eyes, as one who knows not all wisdom is found in the light.
What lies beneath the surface, I will meet.
What must return to the earth, I will release.
And what remains within me, the power forged through every season
I will carry into the night beyond reason.
I honor the Dark Mother. I honor the ancestors, the mysteries beneath the soil,
I am not lost in the darkness. I know the way,
I carry the light as I walk willingly into the night,
So it is spoken.
