Traveling has brought me some of my most memorable and unique experiences and I want to share some of them with you. So hop on board and join me on this fascinating journey through the FAR EAST!

Back when I used to live in Japan, I heard from many people about the legend of 'Peach Boy' - or 'Momotaro', as they call him. It is one of Japan's most well-known and beloved fables. So this time while traveling in Japan, I decided to visit Okayama City - firstly because it was on my route and I'd always been curious what the city is like, but I also wanted to explore the hometown of Momotaro. The story of Momotaro actually developed from old folklore at the Kibitsu Shrine in rural Okayama - so I made the trip out there to the land of mountains and rice paddies and trekked over to Kibitsu Shrine to see the TRUE origins of the story. But Okayama is a cool place to visit. Of course we made it to Okayama Castle and one of the most beautiful gardens in Japan which is connected to it, Korakuen Garden - which was created in 1700 AD and has been well-maintained ever since. Hey everybody - I posted a new chapter of my life story abroad in my 'Tales from the Road' series. This is a chapter that you might be interested in hearing because it discusses my experience of living in China through the entirety of the Covid-19 pandemic. The way things REALLY played out was different from what the media and even the WHO was reporting. It was an especially hard time to be a foreigner in China during those years and in this video I give you a first-hand account of what really happened and what it was like. This series is for paid-members only (either here on Youtube or Patreon) but it's only $1 a month to get access to the entire series which has over 20 chapters. So basically the price of a Snickers bar per month gets you access.

NEW VIDEO: Deep in the southeast of Kentucky sits a town called Hyden which serves as the seat of Leslie County. To most people around the country, the name is unknown but to the folks living in those mountains, everyone knows the name. Though it's a small place, it has a big story. In this video you'll see what the town is like and also I'll take you to the sights where a great American heroine saved countless lives, and then on to another place where great tragedy occurred, leaving 38 men dead and the entire town in a state of shock and mourning.

Good news my friends, the next chapter in the Great Appalachian Tour has started and my first video from the trip is up and ready! First stop on this tour was a little place called Whitley City (McCreary County). It's a place that doesn't get much attention but I noticed it a long time ago while visiting Lake Cumberland. The name of the 'city' caught my eye because it shares the name with one of my favorite singers, Keith Whitley. There's no connection... but it's still a cool name! It's one of the most economically distressed places in the country, but that doesn't stop the people from smiling and treating others with kindness. Hope you all enjoy the video.
