Hi, I'm Jakub, and I really like computers 👾
Codeolences is a channel for anyone fascinated by computer science, alternative technologies, and stories behind influential programmers and computing ideas.
On this channel you’ll find deep‑dives into lesser-known computing topics like ternary computers, obscure architectures, history of programming languages, unusual tech inventions, and the people who shaped them - all explained in a way that is accessible to both newcomers and true nerds.

Many of you asked for a deeper dive into ternary computing in the comments on my last video.
That's why tomorrow at 6 PM CEST / 12 PM (noon) EST, I’m releasing a podcast I recorded with Dr. Steven Bos, an associate professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway and an expert in ternary computing.
In 2019, he co-founded the Ternary Research Group at USN with Professor Henning Gundersen. This is one of the few groups in the world dedicated exclusively to ternary computing, and its mission is to develop efficient, low-power electronics by exploiting the advantages of base-3 systems.
We discussed the benefits of using ternary, why the radix economy argument is more nuanced than I thought, how ternary logic could push us beyond Moore’s Law, and what it would take to actually build a post-binary computer.
I hope you will enjoy our conversation :)
