🤍A year of missing you.🤍 9/19/54 - 2/20/25

Tomorrow makes a year of missing you in ways I never knew I could or would. A year of growth; a year of unexpected and, some nights, unrelenting sadness, tears, and grief. A year of growing a new backbone. A year of honoring myself. A year of learning how to not rush the process. A year of giving myself grace and space.

A year of clinging closer to my husband. A year of showing up more intentionally and thoughtfully for my children. A year of restoring my home to peace while trying to find the peace of home that left with you.

A year of your unexplainable joy revealed in Heaven. A year of you without pain and sorrow. A year of you not having to figure things out. A year of you not needing to worry about anyone or anything. A year of absolute freedom.

A year of you reunited with your earthly father, unborn child, grandmothers, grandfathers, nephew, aunts, uncles, and cousins. A year of you watching the rest of us and finally having some unknown answers revealed. A year of watching us miss you and trying to live without you—impacted in ways we never imagined. A year of you celebrating us and rooting us on, all at the same time. A year of you patiently waiting on the day you get to show us around and share us with your new friends you found.

A year without your presence while you are present with the Lord. I love you, Mommy, and I'm thankful for all the ways you continue to impact me in the best ways, even a year after you've been gone. Continue to enjoy your rest 🤍

This photo is a video screenshot from one of the very last times I heard my mom speak to me—four days before she transitioned. In a dream-like state, with a deep, raspy voice, she said she was so happy to get off the bed and that she would see me later, next week to be precise. Then she asked me to hold her hand, and when I did, she said, "Hold my hand properly." So I did, and she was happy again. Considering the challenges I've had in the past, there's no way I could've been operating in my right mind those final 83 days she was in my care.

This morning, bawling my eyes out from a memory of going through her closet with my aunt to choose one of her final outfits before she was picked up—I said, "God, that was ridiculous! How did I do that? How could I do that?" And I know how—He did an override in my system and took over, doing everything for me. I gave Him the keys a couple of months before my mom moved in, and He took over soon after. There's so much more I want to and could say—but that's for another time and space. I've already said more than enough.

As usual, if you made it this far, I just want to encourage you. Giving God the keys to your life will be the best thing you could ever do this side of heaven, not just so you can have eternal life in heaven, but so that you can survive Earth and all the loops, pain, and plot twists it contains. Give God a try... again. It still hurts, but I'm so grateful.

Hey Sis! If you've been doubting yourself lately, questioning your worth, silently struggling with your self-esteem, or battling low self-confidence, here's a "little" reminder for you. According to Psalm 139:14, praise God, for you are fearfully and wonderfully made!

Your existence is not a fluke, a mistake, or an afterthought. Everything about you is made on purpose, with a purpose greater than anything you could imagine. Consider this: the Most High God, being so intentional and strategic with the formation of the universe, Earth, and every detail about it—even the seasons coming and going like clockwork because HE set it up like that. That same God created you!

His plans for you are top-tier! So tell doubt, guilt, and shame to get thee behind you, then turn your face and heart towards the One who has been cheering you on since the beginning of time.

Next time those sneaky whispers try to make you think less of yourself, ask God to let you see yourself the way He sees you, silence the doubt, and upgrade your vision 👑

Someone needs this reminder - God can do such a deep healing work within you that not even your body will be triggered by past wounds... yes, even that 🩶💔❤️‍🩹💝 Surrender that thing, that person, that issue to God and watch and feel Him transform you.

I'm a witness and still witnessing the work being done in real time - you'll be amazed to see how unrecognizable you become and feel. And the best part is, you won't even have to say anything; before long, others will start to recognize it too, as you become a walking testimony of what God can do.

🐦🐦🐦Three little birds sat on my ___ (bookshelf, desk, table, floating shelf, night stand) and they told me I don't need to worry 💙

This idea has been on my heart for a couple of months and I finally found the perfect birds (like my butterflies) at the thrift store to paint!

These playful and cute birds were inspired by the hymn “His Eye Is On the Sparrow” and Matthew 6:26 (NIV): “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?”

They were painted to be a gentle reminder to cast your worries and concerns on God — a hopeful keepsake for when you need it most.
