Farewell April! 🌸🌼🌷🌼 What "firsts" did you have in April??

For me, April was a month full of tons of firsts!
Now that I think of it, it definitely gave me "first month of the year" vibes! My "Let's try this again" month.

1st time completing a painting of the year
1st time serving at church of the year
1st public event with my sons of the year
1st Ofori family date of the year
1st painting sold of the year
1st YouTube video posted of the year

And many more...

April also held the first holiday of the year with my mom in heaven. It was also the first time of the year that I had a personal/business win that I could not tell her about, and here her say, "Congratulations!"

I promise I won't turn my online platform into a sorrowful personal journal - been there, done that, no thanks 😅

I guess what I DO want to acknowledge is that experiencing this level of grief is totally new territory for me. In all honesty, I'm grieving multiple things. Grief can feel weird. Grief is not linear. Grief has a funny way of showing up when you least expect it. Grief can be loud and sneaky at the same time. I like to be prepared for what's coming and jot every and anything in my calendar, but this week, I learned how unrealistic that is. So I pause. I vent. I cry. I GROW and continue to heal in ways I never knew I needed to. I'm grateful. For all the ways grief hurts and is confusing, I'm grateful for all the ways it leads to healing and clarity.

I wouldn't give grief a 5 star rating by any means, but I'm excited to see how God will use this grief journey to help me bloom and blossom in the next version of me. That's one of the many things that help me keep moving forward 🌼🌸

Introducing "Delight" - my FIRST OFFICIAL painting of 2025 🥹✨️🎨🙏

God gave me the insight during a journal session that things can be well with my soul because I delight in Him. It is so important to delight in the things of the Lord because that's where peace, healing, and freedom abound. The gold in the middle and the fluorescent hot pink orange section reminds me of the warmth and intensity of the Holy Spirit power; like the fire of God. The pearls and rhinestones represent the delight, and the three sections of it represent the trinity.

What do YOU see? What does it speak to YOUR heart?

I've encountered the fruit of delighting in the Lord, dwelling in His presence. Even in the midst of my recent great loss of my mom and the pain of grief, God has restored joy to my life, a smile to my face, and a genuine feeling of peaceful wellbeing. I can honestly say my prayer to “make me the exception” with my grief journey has been answered. And if He did it for me, He can surely do it for you!

I encourage you to find the ways that you can delight in the Lord, so things can truly be well with your soul. Singing praise and worship songs (in and out of church), spending time in prayer (for you and others), intently reading your Bible, sharing the gospel, sharing your testimony, serving your family, friends, or community with love and compassion. There's so many ways to “delight in the Lord”. I pray you find the ways that connect with you and Him the most and you experience what it feels like to have a soul that is well.

✝️ Happy Easter!! As I painted this wooden cross, I reflected on the sacrifice Jesus Christ made many years ago on a wooden cross. His cross was not as pretty as this one I painted, but it was significant. It served a purpose that would change the world forever. Jesus Christ gave His life on a cross so that we could (if we choose to accept) have the opportunity to live here and in eternity forgiven, restored, and redeemed. I'm so beyond grateful for that opportunity, and 1000% accept the gift - Do you? 🎁 Easter just hits differently when you consider what happened on the cross and the amount of love God REALLY has for us. It's next level 🙌📈

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, so that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16

🙌🎥 MY NEW VIDEO GOES LIVE TONIGHT April 14th at 6 pm EST

I originally planned to do a paint and chat video, but God had other plans. This totally spontaneous video came about during intentional time with Him. I felt led to hit record, thought I was just catching silent b-roll and well the rest is history 😭🙌 All I can say is I hope you're inspired, encouraged and motivated to do WHATEVER it is God has been tugging at your heart to do, in His perfect timing. ⚠️Trigger warning - I'm also sharing my point of view of my mom's final months and hours on earth. I was nervous, but GOD GAVE ME THE OKAY to share as HE directed my tongue to speak. He turned it into motivation for YOU to always pursue God's will for your life, just like my Mommy Brontie Hadassah. Her reward was and is great in heaven 🤍🥹🙌🌹
