One month early, but happy 2 years of the Definitive Edition. I made the first mashup in June of that year and it spiraled out of control from there. Weird to think that I was fresh out of high school when i made it. Also happy pride! I'm bisexual, I bet you didn't know that.
"When are you going to remake it with Chonny Jash's cover-" talk to me again in december
Because I can already see more comments about it coming in the future; no, I'm not going to remake Definitive Edition to include Chonny Jash's cover. Not yet anyway.
His cover has too much pizazz for me to do anything but tell you to listen to it. :)
To give more of a genuine explanation, while I definitely could remake it, fitting the entire thing around his cover of the song, it's not something I want to spend time doing, and attempting to one-up a fan cover (especially something on the scale of his cover) through something like that isn't something I'm keen to do.
The initial reason I made any of my mash-ups in the first place is because I wanted to fit all of my favorite covers/demos of some of my favorite songs together, while adding my own flare. Every cover has its own special sound to bring, and I wanted to see how they sounded together. The initial "when THAT part of the mind electric hits" video was something I made as a one-off experiment to express how much I loved the song (and specifically *that* part), but I was very careful to link every part I put into the mash-up because I also wanted to share all of the different covers for people to listen to. Every part of those mash-ups I've listened to a vast number of times over the years of it being my favorite song--each one was new and beautiful and massaged my ears in ways I couldn't describe, so instead I seeked to *show* the feeling, and help you to hear what I hear.
Nearly every cover and demo I used in those mash-ups were several years old, and I wanted to share them with new and old fans who might not have heard them, as well as making content utilizing them, in an attempt to create my own niche sound which was new unto itself.
I don't intend to remake the video unless I get a vast amount of new The Mind Electric content with which to remix into another mash-up. I encourage you to listen to new content as well--and 100%, *support the creators I link in the description!* I put them there for a reason!
So no, I'm not gonna remake it, not yet. I might do more content involving TME and HPII in the future, tho, probably also some other Tally Hall adjacent content. If nothing else, you can expect more music/covers in the future. EDIT: shit i forgot to link Chonny Jash's cover lol https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIQbS...
