I hope you all have an amazing day with your family's ❤️ please take the time to reflect on the love of our savior, A love that we as humans dont really understand im afraid. His body was broken and his blood was shed for You and I so that we could have a helper. THE SPIRIT moves among us friends we just have to be obedient and trust in him. There are days that will be hard and times when you feel anxious, desperate, despair, depression, like there's nowhere left you can go or turn but friends there was a God who loved you so much he sent his only son to live amongst us and DIE to atone all of our sins. Today our Savior defeated death and I pray that we will rejoice in a way that will honor our God. Go forth and make disciples of all nations! Share his word, his love, the gospel ❤️❤️❤️ we love you all and hope you have an amazing day 🌞 #Easter

Christmas came early... 👀👀😍

Invented and sold by the E.E. Sutherland Medicine Company of Paducah, Kentucky, this little bottle once promised relief for coughs, colds, bronchitis, and even croup. Marketed in the 1890s, it boasted soothing ingredients like honey, pine tar, glycerin, and vegetable extracts, though later tests uncovered a surprising extra: ammonia.

Early ads featured the iconic “Granny Metcalfe,” a folksy grandmother figure meant to inspire trust during the booming patent-medicine era. Like many remedies of its time, it eventually drew scrutiny from the newly formed FDA… but not before becoming a staple in medicine cabinets across Kentucky and beyond.

A true snapshot of 19th-century Appalachian healing, salesmanship, and the wild world of early American patent medicines.
