Welcome to my little corner of YouTube, where I share my various hobbies and interests as they relate to material culture of the past! I dabble in a number of time periods, from SCA projects in the 9th/10th, 14th, and 16th centuries, as well as various decades from the 17th century through the 1950s. I'm currently on a medieval kick, and have several upcoming videos focused on projects from the 13th-16th centuries.

I put out videos the second and fourth Wednesday of every month!

Hello my wonderful sewhorts! Looking for a fun project to kickstart? ‪@LinaPiprek‬ is putting out a historybounding-type capsule wardrobe book. I was one of the pattern testers for the included Edwardian shirtwaist, and it came out super cute. I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up again so I can wear it more often! Check it out here: www.kickstarter.com/projects/linapiprek/time-capsu…

Hello to all my wonderful sewhorts! My video on planning out my late Elizabethan capsule wardrobe is supposed to go up in about 20 minutes, but unfortunately my computer has been fighting me all day, so I need to postpone it. Fingers crossed that I’ll be able to get it exported sometime tonight, and uploaded to YouTube tomorrow! So check back in around 5pm EST tomorrow (Thursday) to check it out.

Hello my amazing sewhorts! I'm starting to plan out my upcoming projects, and that includes a knitalong! When I did a poll a while back the most popular option was a small accessory, such as a purse, so now I want to see what kind of purse everyone one would be most interested in. I'm tentatively planning to start in April.

And those options are:
(top left) A swag style beaded purse with a frame, early 20th century
(top right) A beaded pence/jug purse, 19th&early 20th century
(bottom left) A pineapple/hedgehog bag, 19th century
(bottom right) A beaded miser purse, 19th century

Because YouTube won't let me post both a photo and a poll, please comment on which style you'd be most interested in, so I can start prepping!

A million apologies to my wonderful (and patient) sewhorts! It turns out if you forget to actually schedule your video to go live when you upload it, it just sits there unlisted forever. Some of you found the last part of the Tam CAL through the playlist, but to everyone else, I am so sorry for the delay.
Since this video only includes a bit of single crochet, I didn't make two separate ones for left and right handed crocheters.

Hello to all my wonderful sewhorts! I'm planning to open up memberships through my Ko-fi by the end of this year, and while I've got some ideas of what to include, I'd like to know what it is you'd be interested in getting out of a monthly subscription. Early access to videos? A Discord server just for my sewhorts? 1-on-1 help with things I've done videos on? You tell me!

Hello, my sewhorts! With 24 votes the Tam-O’Shanter seems to be a very popular idea! I’ll be putting up a video with all the materials and supplies video for it at the end of this month, and the crochet-along will start on October 20th.

There also seems to be some interest in a potential knit-along, so I’ve been poking at my pattern stash to get some potential ideas, and I’ll need some feedback from you all as well. These would all be historical patterns, pre-1930. Short vs long in terms of these knit-alongs is for posting schedule- a short knit-along would have 3-4 videos posted every two weeks, while a long one would have probably 4+ videos posted once a month. It wouldn’t start until the spring, probably March or April.

Hello to all my sewhorts! I’m working on plotting out my fall video slate, and I’m thinking of doing another crochet-along. Since I did slippers last year, this year I’m thinking of jumping to the other end of humans and doing something for the head instead! I’ve got my eye on an Edwardian ladies’ tam-o’-shanter for this project. The stitch it’s made with is a little tricky to start with, but once you master it the tam flies along. What do think? Does this idea tickle your fancy, or is there some other kind of pre-1930 crochet or knitting project you’d like to see as a make-along?
