Hello from Costa Blanca 😊
I just arrived safely in Albir, and today I’m taking a little walk to one of the most famous spots here, the Fire Lighthouse in Albir. This will actually become my daily walking route while I live here.
This place is very well known in the area. Thousands of people walk this path every day. The views are breathtaking, the atmosphere is peaceful, and it’s one of those places that instantly makes you feel alive.
I wanted to share a few photos with you so you can see what it looks like here. Some of you have probably visited Costa Blanca and this lighthouse before. Others maybe haven’t. Either way, I’d love to share it with all of you.

Acabo de llegar sano y salvo a Albir, y hoy estoy haciendo una pequeña caminata hasta uno de los lugares más famosos de aquí, el Faro de Albir. Este será, de hecho, mi ruta diaria mientras viva aquí.
Este sitio es muy conocido en la zona. Miles de personas recorren este camino cada día. Las vistas son espectaculares, el ambiente es tranquilo, y es uno de esos lugares que te hacen sentir vivo al instante.
Quería compartir algunas fotos con vosotros para que veáis cómo es esto. Algunos de vosotros seguramente ya habéis visitado Costa Blanca y este faro. Otros quizás no. En cualquier caso, me hace ilusión compartirlo con todos.

I just wanted to say thank you. This channel has grown a lot during the last month since I decided to truly focus on it, and it honestly makes me very happy to see. I appreciate every single one of you.

Today I tried something completely new. I interviewed an amazing English man who has lived in Spain for more than 20 years. He has huge insight into what it is like to be British in Spain, the differences between the UK and Spain, and he shares tons of useful tips for anyone planning to move here or even just visit.

We planned a short interview of 15 to 20 minutes. But the conversation flowed so well that we kept talking and ended up with a 47 minute video. So grab some popcorn, sit back in a comfortable chair, put the video on your smart TV and enjoy.

I already see comments coming in. As always some Spaniards want to criticize. This time the main topic is that we use the word expat in the video. Some say we are immigrants. And that is fine. I have no problem calling myself an immigrant. That is what I am. What matters to me is that I try my best to learn the language, respect the culture and integrate as much as possible. Hopefully one day that will earn respect too.

Hoy probé algo completamente nuevo. Entrevisté a un hombre inglés increíble que ha vivido en España durante más de 20 años. Tiene muchísima experiencia sobre cómo es ser británico en España, las diferencias entre Reino Unido y España, y comparte muchos consejos útiles para quienes quieren mudarse aquí o simplemente visitar.

La idea era hacer una entrevista de 15 a 20 minutos. Pero la conversación fluyó tan bien que seguimos hablando y acabamos con un video de 47 minutos. Así que prepara unas palomitas, siéntate cómodo, pon el video en tu smart TV y disfruta.

Ya veo que están llegando comentarios. Como siempre algunos españoles quieren criticar. Esta vez el tema principal es que usamos la palabra expat en el video. Algunos dicen que somos inmigrantes. Y está bien. No tengo ningún problema en llamarme inmigrante. Eso es lo que soy. Lo importante para mí es aprender el idioma, respetar la cultura e integrarme lo máximo posible. Ojalá algún día eso también gane respeto.

Quiero pediros un favor pequeño pero muy importante. Muchos de vosotros disfrutáis mis videos pero veo que pocos han activado la campana de notificaciones. Si no activas la campana YouTube poco a poco deja de mostrarte mis nuevos videos aunque estés suscrito. Así funciona el algoritmo. Today something happened to me that I never expected living in Spain. While hiking in Costa del Sol I suddenly came face to face with a family of wild boars and its babies. I was much closer than I should have been and for a few seconds I had no idea how it would end. And at the end of the video you will see close ups of the baby wild boars and they are unbelievably cute, you have to watch until the end 🐷🐷💛

Hoy me pasó algo que jamás esperaba viviendo en España. Mientras hacía senderismo en la Costa del Sol me encontré cara a cara con una familia de jabalíes salvajes. Estuve mucho más cerca de lo que debería y durante unos segundos no sabía cómo iba a terminar. Y al final del video hay primeros planos de los bebés jabalíes y son increíblemente adorables, tienes que verlo hasta el final 🐷🐷🐷💛

I’ve received quite a lot of feedback on my latest video, and I see that some Spanish viewers felt offended by it. That’s honestly not my intention at all.
Because of that, I actually think it’s even more important that you watch the video and share your honest opinion in the comments.

The video is not saying that Spain is dangerous, and it’s not meant to offend anyone. I’m simply trying to explain who Spain might not be the right fit for, because Spain is not for everyone and that’s okay.

When I talk about things being “slow”, I do not mean that Spaniards are lazy or don’t work hard. I know people work very hard here. What I’m referring to is the structure, organisation, and communication, which can sometimes make everyday processes take longer.

So if you’re Spanish and you watch the video, please try to see it from that perspective. I’m not stepping on anyone’s toes, and I truly welcome your honest thoughts in the comments on the video.

He recibido bastantes comentarios sobre mi último vídeo y veo que a algunos españoles les ha molestado. De verdad, no era mi intención en absoluto.
Por eso creo que es todavía más importante que veáis el vídeo y dejéis vuestra opinión sincera en los comentarios.

El vídeo no dice que España sea peligrosa ni pretende ofender a nadie. Simplemente intento explicar para qué tipo de personas España quizá no es el lugar ideal, porque España no es para todo el mundo, y eso no tiene nada de malo.

Cuando hablo de que las cosas van “más despacio”, no quiero decir que los españoles sean vagos o que no trabajen duro. Sé que la gente trabaja muchísimo aquí. Me refiero más bien a la estructura, la organización y la comunicación, que a veces hacen que los procesos cotidianos tarden más.

Si eres español y ves el vídeo, te pido que lo mires desde ese punto de vista. No intento pisar callos ni faltar al respeto, y agradeceré mucho tu opinión honesta en los comentarios del vídeo.
