Oregon Public Broadcasting (OPB) is an independent, nonprofit media organization powered by the generous support of members. For more than 100 years, OPB has connected people across Oregon and the Pacific Northwest through the power of a shared story. Stories that define who we are, what we do, where we live and where we’re going. Guided by the pursuit of truth, a spirit of curiosity, with equity and public service at the center of our work, our in-depth reporting and storytelling is freely accessible to all. OPB provides PBS and NPR to most of Oregon. Learn more at opb.org.

Sometimes it seems like the world is moving too fast. So we here at OPB wanted to try something: we wanted to see what happens when we take it slow. Really slow. 🐌
We’re launching a new experiment called “OPB’s Slow TV.” The idea is: our region is full of beautiful places and moments, and we want to take you there. Think:
🚢On a barge through the scenic Columbia River Gorge.
🚂On a train up the side of Mount Hood.
🛶On a canoe around Upper Klamath Lake.
🌄To a stunning sunset in Astoria with ships sailing by.
We’re filming in 4k, so you can watch the videos on your TV and take in the full sights and sounds. Or you can put them on in the background while you do something else, like prepare a holiday feast for your friends and family.
We’ll be rolling out new videos once a week through the end of the year. You can find them on OPB’s YouTube channel in the playlist “OPB’s Slow TV.”
And if you like them, we’ll do more.
Tune in. Take it slow.
