Good morning from Louie.It’s been a rough couple of weeks around here. Albert was away on vacation with his dad, we lost our sweet boy Oscar, and now we’ve got this little terror Louie keeping everyone on their toes. We’ve missed you all and have a lot to catch you up on. Al and his dad got Granny an amazing surprise that’s she’ll open today, my sister got us the sweetest gift to remember our boy, Granny’s ex–son-in-law (my sister’s ex) is staying with us for a visit, and we have gifts from Granny’s friends (you guys!) to open. Looks like today’s going to be a busy one… and we can’t wait to tell you all about it.
We took Granny out today hoping it would take her mind off losing our little pup Oscar. For a little while it worked… but by the end she couldn’t hold the tears back. We all miss our little firecracker so much. Losing a dog wrecks a house. Anyone who’s had one knows they’re not “just a pet.” They’re basically a tiny, loud family member with fur and zero respect for personal space. Oscar clearly had everyone wrapped around his little paw.
Albert rushed home last night to say goodbye to our boy. Everything happened so fast. Friday he got sick, and by early this morning, he was gone. Our little firecracker filled our home with so much love, laughter, and chaos in the best way. The silence without him feels heavy, and our hearts are completely broken. We’re going to miss him more than words can say
Oscar isn’t doing well right now. We’re at the vet, loving him through every minute and hoping with everything we have. My boy… I want to be selfish and beg you not to leave us. But I also know you’re tired and hurting, and all I’ve ever wanted is for you to feel safe and loved. You gave us more joy, laughter, and love than you could ever imagine. Our little firecracker, our brave boy… please get better. We’re right here with you.
Another night, another delicious dinner made by me.
1 package of phyllo dough, split into 3 1 pound ground sausage, cooked & strained 4 sautéed onions 1 pound sautéed mushrooms 1 cup Parmesan
Layer a 3rd of the dough in bottom of a baking dish, lightly brush on a little butter on each layer
Add sausage mixture Another layer of dough, buttering each layer Another layer of sausage mixture Top with the rest of the dough, butter each layer, add some Parmesan on top and bake until nice and golden brown
