Was tired of Tokyo, moved to Kansai!
- not really, but life took me to the quiet town of Kobe, nestled amid the cultural richness of Kyoto and Osaka,
with much to explore 📸✨

Almost done with the next episode, and I'm a little amazed how well the colors and exposure turned out!
These are all screen grabs from video with slog conversion and my regular LUT, so happy with how this is coming along!
The episode features a place that has been on top of my list for a while and I can't wait to show you!
The pictures are kind of giving it away but 🤫✨

Hello hello~ I has been a little while, but a new video is coming tomorrow! Just as last year (shout out if you've been here this long 🫶) June was a silent month for me, because for one, work always takes over, and then I was trying to figure out something that has been bothering me a little while making videos.
I couldn’t really pinpoint what it was, I tried changing my editing, even tried getting on DaVinci (help?), but eventually I figured out the real issue: a disconnect.

I love photographing moments that feel like they need to be preserved, but before, it just took a quick photo. But now that my camera’s decked out in a cage with a handle and a hot shoe mic dangling on top, it feels harder and harder to just take that photo. Before I know it, I’m basically right up in someone’s face with what feels like a whole mini movie set.

I want to blend into the background again. To stay a bit more hidden and let things unfold, instead of showing up as a “big camera.” This might sound a little selfish, but looking back at the photos I took before I added video into the mix, the difference is pretty clear to me.

So yes, slight changes coming to how I’m doing things on here~
I’ve decided to switch from using one camera for everything to separating photo and video. I’ll use the ZV-E10 II for video, and keep my a7III (or whatever I feel like using that day) for photography. A little heavy on the shoulders maybe, but if it helps me get better results, the back pain will be worth it.
I’ve also been kind of bothered by how I’ve basically ignored all my other lenses in favor of the 24-70mm for video. It’s made me feel a bit stuck. Constantly switching back and forth between photo and video settings has also made my photography feel kind of… boring? Just because I feel like I miss a lot of chances and other times I end up with photos that just mimic what I have on video... I just haven’t liked a lot of the photos I’ve taken recently.

Anyway, hoping this small shift helps in the long run to make things more interesting and less repetitive!
Thanks for reading this far and I hope I'll see you for tomorrow's new video~ 🥰

Hello hello! I somehow missed this, but we’re already over 2000 on here! 🥺🫶
Thank you so much for following along! It makes me so happy that I get to share my love for the camera with you on here!

I’ve just scheduled a new video for tomorrow: more quiet neighborhood wandering, on a day that turned out quite differently than I imagined 🩷

It’s been a little quiet here - but a new video is coming tonight ✨ (It's up now! 😉)
This one's a bit different than usual - I have gotten a few inquiries about my gear, my camera and how I edit and color grade recently, so I want to take you through my creative process from start to finish!

A calm day of photography, plus a look at how I approach my creative process from behind the camera.
Hope you’ll enjoy it once it’s up ♡

I went exploring in a smaller town in Hyogo last week and it was so insanely nice! It really felt like one of those places lost in time - and I can't wait to share with you~
I also made a new soft & nostalgic LUT to color grade this! Anyone interested to try it?✨
