Baby boom at Planet Penguin! 🐧🐣

We’re absolutely thrilled about the arrival of several penguin chicks, who are already beginning to show their youthful look as they grow day by day in our Antarctic habitat.

They’re lovingly cared for both by their parents and by our expert team, who closely monitor their development to make sure everything progresses perfectly. 🐣❄️

A day to remember how important these incredible ocean predators are — like the ones living at Loro Parque:

We love capybaras as much as we love Fridays 🐾

That’s why we’re kicking off the weekend with some fun facts about one of Loro Parque’s most beloved animals:

Capybara (Hydrochoerus hydrochaeris)

🌍 Origin: Wetlands and savannas of South America.
🍃 Diet: Herbivore, feeding on grasses, fruits, and aquatic plants.
📏 Size: Up to 60 cm tall and 1.3 m long; can weigh over 60 kg.
🎨 Fun Fact: Their webbed feet make them great swimmers — they can even sleep underwater! 🌊😴
✨ Highly social animals that live in groups and communicate with whistles, grunts, and squeals.

A new addition to the Loro Parque family!🦥

This week, a two-toed sloth baby was born — and we’re thrilled! This birth marks another milestone in our commitment to conservation and adds to the baby boom we’re experiencing: in just two months, we’ve welcomed a baby orca, golden lion tamarin and lemur pups. 💚

The newborn is healthy and already beginning to explore the habitat alongside its mother, Pauline. Each birth like this is a step forward in protecting vulnerable species.

🇪🇸 Ayer celebramos el Día Internacional de la Concienciación por los Pingüinos, recordando los retos que enfrentan estas extraordinarias aves: el cambio climático, la contaminación, la sobrepesca y el turismo masivo amenazan su supervivencia.

En Loro Parque, contribuimos a su protección a través de la reproducción, el estudio y el cuidado de cinco especies diferentes. Así, nuestros pingüinos se convierten en verdaderos embajadores de sus homólogos en la naturaleza, ayudando a sensibilizar a todos nuestros visitantes.

Cuidar de ellos es cuidar del futuro. 🐧💙🌍

🇬🇧 Yesterday we celebrated World Penguin Awareness Day, highlighting the challenges these extraordinary birds face: climate change, pollution, overfishing, and mass tourism all threaten their survival.

At Loro Parque, we help protect them through breeding programmes, research, and the daily care of five different penguin species. Our penguins act as true ambassadors for their wild counterparts, raising awareness among all our visitors.

Protecting them means protecting the future. 🐧💙🌍

🇩🇪 Gestern haben wir den Internationalen Tag der Bewusstseinsbildung für Pinguine gefeiert und auf die Herausforderungen hingewiesen, denen diese außergewöhnlichen Vögel gegenüberstehen: Klimawandel, Umweltverschmutzung, Überfischung und Massentourismus bedrohen ihr Überleben.

Im Loro Parque tragen wir zum Schutz dieser faszinierenden Tiere bei – durch Zuchtprogramme, Forschung und die tägliche Pflege von fünf verschiedenen Pinguinarten. Unsere Pinguine werden so zu wahren Botschaftern ihrer Artgenossen in freier Wildbahn und helfen, das Bewusstsein unserer Besucher zu stärken.
