Three years ago, in October, I did a little project called “Pocket Operator October.” The rule was simple: record and post a jam every day using only Pocket Operators — no editing, one take only.

Since I had a full-time job, I wasn’t sure if I could actually keep up with daily uploads. So I decided: if I could make 15 videos in September, I’d go for it. I was already doing two regular uploads per week at that time, so in practice it already felt like daily posting.

Somehow I managed to finish those 15 videos by the end of September, and started posting every day from October 1st. (By the way, October 1st is a very good duo, isn’t it?) Of course, I still had to make the remaining 16 along the way, so it turned into two full months of constant pressure (and caffeine).

I even planned out all the Pocket Operator combinations so none would repeat. Still, every time I sat down to record, I wondered where to start. Honestly, a few of them definitely have that “just get it done” feeling.

Each performance was about a minute long, and I kept adding them to my iPod to listen to on my commute. What started as a short playlist grew into more than 30 minutes — long enough that I couldn’t finish it in one trip. It felt like I’d accidentally made my own little album, and that made me oddly happy.

Personally, Day 17 is one of my favorites — and also the final day, France Gall. That one actually got hit with a copyright claim (fair enough!). Strangely, Day 16 didn’t get flagged at all.

The views didn’t really grow the way I hoped, but I’m glad I pushed through and finished it. Looking back now, it’s a good memory.

🎉 We've reached 1,000 subscribers—thank you so much!

Since February, I’ve been incredibly busy developing a new product, and I haven’t even had time to enjoy my synths, let alone post videos. I had to get everything ready in time for a major trade show, and it was a really tough stretch. But in the end, it paid off—the response at the show was beyond anything I had hoped for.

After the exhibition, the product development finally settled down... but then it was time to prepare the fields. If I miss the timing, I won’t make it in time for the summer harvest. So after harvesting the overwintered onions, I tilled the soil, added fertilizer, and planted new seedlings.

Just like growing crops, growing a YouTube channel takes time. I posted the first Pico3 video when the channel had only about 30 subscribers. It’s taken four years to reach 1,000. I don’t know how far we’ll go from here, but I’m setting my sights on 10K. Thank you for your support and being part of this journey.

A few days ago, one of my old MRI remix videos suddenly received a surge of views. When I looked into it, I found out that a Hungarian news site, telex.hu, had featured the remix in one of its articles. The article itself talks about how MRI sounds can be used as a theme for music, so feel free to check it out if you're interested!

This past Saturday, there was a small fire incident at my wife’s family home.

Apparently, the air conditioner’s power outlet had a short circuit. The plug got scorched, and the plastic around it warped from the heat.

The fire department and police came, and it turned into quite a scene. According to the firefighters, the likely cause was aging damage—small cracks had developed in the outlet over time.

Electrical fires are no joke, so please be careful! Once a fire starts, it’s already too late.

I highly recommend checking your power adapters and outlets to make sure they’re in good condition. Better safe than sorry!

I opened the lid. Since it uses the RP2040, there’s a chance that custom firmware created by users might appear. For the audio input/output, it uses the NAU88C22, which reportedly has a built-in 5-band EQ and filters.
