Did you know that dandelion root can be used as a coffee substitute? Wash, dry (either air dry or dehydrator), roast and then grind. It’s as simple as that.
You can’t ask me what it tastes like, because I’ve never tried it before, but my hubby and I have decided that we definitely want to. So, sounds like we will be making some dandelion tea from this harvest. I will definitely report back on how it tastes! It apparently makes a great caffeine free option that has the coffee taste without being coffee.
The greens can be used for a variety of different things but one of the most popular is as a green in salad. They have a somewhat bitter taste to them, but make a good addition to salad with the right dressing.
One of the things I want to try is dandelion pesto (see screenshot of recipe) and dandelion ravioli (also screenshotted). Both sound sooo good and I can’t wait to try them both. I’ll keep you posted on those as well.

Hey everyone! I’m gonna have to delay the posting of this week’s video! Life has gotten the best of me this week. A big combination of two small children, herbalist school and still running my small baking business. Hopefully the video will be out by Saturday before my sister comes to visit! Hope everyone has had a great week!

Just a random screenshot from my first herbalism video. Definitely not the most flattering 😂 but oh well. T-minus 3 days until the video comes out. Go follow me on YouTube @TheHerbalistsKitchen to get notified when I post!

Apparently I’ve fallen down the hole of old world style so far that I’m now over here making my own decorations and Christmas gifts (not shown because family members follow me and I don’t wanna give away what the goodies are 😜) 🤷🏻♀️ What can I say? I’ve always thought I was born in the wrong era.
These are dried lemons; done in the oven and food dehydrator. They are going to be used to make my gifts look pretty and to be used around the house once I get some fresh pine branches; as well as for citrus garlands and strings around the house. Possibly for ornaments as well, but I’m not sure I’ll have time for that this year. This is definitely a collection of things I am going to love making and can’t wait to have my full collection done! Definitely going to take a few years of crafting to get everything done!
Do you wanna see how I made these? They’re a lot more simple than you would think!

When you have a craving for peanut butter and chocolate but want something easy and no bake. These are a less than 10 ingredient cookie that require no baking!
Peanut Graham Morsels
1/2 cup of soft butter
3/4 cup smooth peanut butter
1/2 cup of coconut or chopped nuts (I used chopped pecans)
13/4 cups icing sugar
1 cup graham cracker crumbs
Mix these ingredients all together and shape into balls and logs.
1 cup chocolate chips
3 tablespoons grated parowaxparaffin)
Melt chocolate chips with oatowax. Dip or coat the cookies in the chocolate and ppace on wax paper (or cooling rack). Enjoy! Let me know in the comments if you want to see a full tutorial on how to make these! Maybe I’ll go live and I can answer any questions anyone has!
Do you like peanut butter and chocolate together??
