"Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink." — John 7:37 🐑💧

In ancient Israel, a flock of sheep depended entirely on their shepherd for water, often found at the bottom of deep wells. The shepherd was the only one who could provide it. This powerful image is a metaphor for our relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus called the Holy Spirit "living water," promising that anyone who drinks it will live forever. We can only receive this gift by trusting in Him. 🙏✨

This living water empowers us at The Good Shepherd United Methodist Church to become disciples of Jesus Christ. Just as Jesus quenches our spiritual thirst, the Holy Spirit empowers us to love boldly, serve joyfully, and lead courageously in our local communities. ❤️🌍

Our mission is to make disciples for the transformation of the world. We invite you to come and drink from the well of His grace with us! 🏞️🕊️

💡A sheep pen is made up of these stone walls that come together and form a narrow opening. So before evening sets in, the shepherd gets his flock into the protection of a sheep pen. And then, he himself serves as the gate to the sheep by sitting or laying in this narrow opening. Nothing can get in and out without going through the shepherd.

🙏Jesus, thank you for being the gate. Thank you for making a way for me to be saved and to find rest and provision in you. Guide me to enter through you, so I can find true life and peace. Amen

📖Psalms 23:1-6
¹The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.

²He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside still waters;

³He restores my soul. He leads me in right paths for his name's sake.

⁴Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff— they comfort me.

⁵You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.

⁶Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord my whole life long.

🙏Let us Pray: Heavenly Father, our Shepherd, thank you for your goodness, mercy and presence in our lives.
