Morning Sun Eatery: ★★★☆☆ naimas idtoy apo!
Finally an Ilocano restaurant getting worldwide recognition! This eatery is our go-to place whenever we are in Proj. 4 because their food is authentically Ilocano. They offer great grilled meats (like BBQ, bulaklak, dugo, and isaw)—I love the flavors, especially drenched in Ilocano vinegar; it's perfect. They also serve essential Ilocano favorites like Papaitan, Sinanglao, and Dinakdakan, all featuring goat meat, which is a staple in Ilocano cuisine.
I have mixed feelings about their recognition in the Michelin Guide. I'm proud that Ilocano food is finally recognized (Michelin really needs to explore the Ilocos region, especially Norte!), but I'm also sad because now I have to wait in line for at least 30 minutes to eat at Morning Sun. #MichelinGuide #philippinestravel #pinoyfoodcravings #ilocanofood #ilocano

This Pancake House on Opal St., Ortigas is a fantastic branch! The fact that it's open 24/7 is incredibly convenient. The food quality is consistently good and well-maintained, and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend trying their Fried Chicken and the French Toast—they are my absolute favorites. While the pricing is a little steep compared to the type of food served, the overall experience makes it a solid choice.

Imagine escaping to a small, private island where the only rush hour is the slow, majestic flight of a sea eagle overhead. Welcome to Pandan Island off the coast of Sablayan—your personal piece of tropical serenity in Occidental Mindoro.
This is not a crowded luxury hotel; it is an authentic, eco-friendly sanctuary that preserves the virgin beauty of the Philippines. Here, the resort blends into the landscape, featuring charming native cottages nestled directly beneath swaying palms, just steps from the shore.
The Invitation to Experience Pure Nature:
Wake Up: Let the sunlight filter through your bamboo walls and the sounds of a natural bird sanctuary be your morning alarm. There is no TV, no traffic—only the gentle rhythm of the waves.
Wade In: The waters are a brilliant turquoise that beckons you to dive in. Grab a snorkel and you don't need a boat trip to find magic; Pandan's house reef is often visited by Green Sea Turtles (Pawikan), allowing you to swim alongside these gentle giants right off the main beach.
Go Deeper: As the premier jump-off point for the world-famous Apo Reef, Pandan Island invites divers and snorkelers to explore an underwater cathedral of unparalleled coral gardens and diverse marine life.
Unwind Completely: Spend your afternoons suspended in a hammock, sipping a fresh fruit shake, or watching the sunset paint the sky over the West Philippine Sea. Life here is simple, personal, and profoundly peaceful.
If your soul craves a genuine retreat—a place where you can feel the soft, golden sand between your toes and disconnect from the modern world—Pandan Island is waiting for you. It's the simple life, perfected. #Philippines #island #islandvibes #paradiseresort #relaxing

The pita at this restaurant was a definite highlight because it was freshly made. We ordered the chicken and beef shawarma. The chicken was a bit of a letdown for me because I was hoping for a stronger garlic flavor, and the garlic sauce also lacked the punch I look for in Middle Eastern food. However, the beef shawarma had a great taste, although the texture was a bit chewy. Overall, the restaurant was an okay experience, and I would suggest trying the chicken shawarma. #philppines #foodie

Inohana Castle is a great place to visit in Japan. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the monorail and is majestic to look at. Unfortunately, the museum was under renovation when I visited, but I still give this visit 5 stars. It deserves nothing less. The park around the castle is also a nice place to chill and just appreciate the castle's beauty.

Pho Hoa is a decent Vietnamese restaurant in the Philippines, but it doesn't offer the best value for your money. I don't mind paying high prices as long as I get my money's worth, but that isn't the case here.
I've eaten authentic pho in other countries, and while Pho Hoa's taste is comparable, its protein serving size is inferior. This is disappointing, considering the price is similar to, or even higher than, what you'd find abroad.
So, if you are craving pho and have extra cash to spare, Pho Hoa is a decent choice, as it tastes very similar to authentic pho. The staff at this particular branch are a major plus—they are very attentive, friendly, and won't give you any attitude for asking for extra veggies or chilis. The main drawback, however, is that this branch does not have a parking space.

It's a shame because the Manila Bay Area has so much potential to become a top tourism spot in Metro Manila. However, incidents like seeing people throw their pizza box into the ocean are incredibly disheartening. We Filipinos need to develop a stronger awareness and care for our environment to truly unlock the beauty of places like this.
