🌕 The Last Full Moon of the Year 🌕

As we step into the final full moon of this year, the energy invites us to reflect, release, and renew. Known as the Cold Moon or Long Nights Moon, this luminary marks a sacred time of stillness and introspection as we prepare to cross the threshold into a new year.

Throughout history, full moons have been celebrated as portals of spiritual connection:
✨ In ancient Europe, moonlit rituals included cleansing fires to release the year’s burdens and invite clarity.
✨ Indigenous cultures danced beneath the moonlight, honoring the cycles of nature and setting intentions for harmony.
✨ In Chinese and Ayurvedic traditions, full moons were seen as a time for nourishing the spirit and restoring balance.

Ritual Ideas for Today:
🌿 Write & Burn: Journal what you’re ready to release, then safely burn the paper as a symbolic act of letting go.
🌙 Moonlit Meditation: Spend a few moments under the moon, visualizing its light cleansing and energizing you.
💧 Water Ritual: Infuse a bowl of water with moonlight and use it for a soothing face or hand cleanse, imagining the water washing away stagnant energy.

This moon is a reminder that even in the quiet and cold of winter, there is beauty, light, and growth. Take this time to honor the lessons of the past year, release what no longer serves, and open your heart to the possibilities of the year ahead.

✨ How will you honor this full moon?

Emotions according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. In TCM, joy is the emotion associated with the Heart and the fire element. While joy is often seen as a positive feeling, balance is key. TCM teaches us that excessive joy can lead to agitation, or mania, which can strain the Heart. On the other hand, a lack of joy may lead to depression.

The Heart is the home of the Shen (our spirit), which represents our consciousness, emotions, mental function, and vitality. The Shen is nourished by the Heart’s Blood, providing it a place of rest, especially during sleep. As the center of our emotions, the Heart plays a role in processing feelings tied to other organs. When emotions become overwhelming, it can leave little space for joy and disrupt emotional harmony, often manifesting as sleep imbalances linked to a restless Shen.

: A powerful tool to strengthen the Heart and calm the Shen.
: Helps restore the flow of Qi and Blood, supporting your physical, mental, and emotional health.
Reflect on how you can create space for joy in your life. Consider what no longer serves you and let it go.
Cultivating joy and caring for your Heart leads to greater emotional resilience and overall well-being.
