In September I was participating at Habitare where I was renting a table for selling my handmade earrings. 🙌

Thank you FunDesign for organising this opportunity!

💭 The reason I still haven’t posted my thoughts about this experience is because all the pressure and preparation for markers totally overwhelmed me. Since mid-August till mid-September I was on my first three markers. It was way beyond harder than I expected initially.

But of course I needed these experiences to understand what path to take when it comes down to my business. ‼️

Surprisingly on Habitare I sold more items than at any other market (4 items, to be exact). 💸 (Surprisingly, because Messukeskus, where the event was held, is a very big place, and majority of people weren’t in the area where my table was located.)

Currently, I’m working on several YouTube videos were I will go in detail:

1. How I learned to make earrings.
2. How I developed my own earring line + branding. As well as how I tried reaching out to shops for wholesale opportunities.
3. How all the markets went (in details: expenses, earnings, all supplies, etc). I’ll include videos from event as well.

My second market is done! 🤌✨

Thoughts/results/lessons learnt?
It’s important to understand your customer group vs. what audience will be at the market.
In my case, it was a learning curve. As I discovered during my last two events, customers who buy my products are usually women of 25-70 years of age, who like unique jewelry (but not too unique). They usually dress in something beautiful, by general social standards, while still wanting to stand out (but not too much and not in too unconventional way). It was an important discovery for me! ☺️

Although at this market at FunDesign I sold more intems (3 pairs, to be exact), I believe it was because I lowered my prices - but not because the audience was right for me. That’s, once again, a learning opportunity (yeah, I’ll keep telling that to myself!) 😅

My first ever market is behind! 🙌

The event was in front of Kamppi shopping mall where I got to see a lot of people and meet fellow artists/vendors. Even made friends!

As a first-timer, I didn’t really know what to expect. I had mixed feelings:
💭 what if I sell out and run out of product before the end of the fair?
🗯️ what if I don’t sell at all, because nobody likes my products?
💬 Or what if my prices are too high/low?

Aah! 🙀

The result: I did sell one pair of earrings. 🎉
It’s both unbelievably cool (truly incredible feeling when someone loves your work enough to pay worthy price) and unbelievably little (perhaps the prices were too high).

In any case, I am so glad I did it!
Next stop for me: FunDesign Market at Redi shopping mall on 30.8. ✌️
