At the turning of time, when one cycle ended and another had not yet begun,
Nārada stood before Nārāyaṇa.

He asked:

“Bhagavan, navasya kālasya ārambhe
kim vadāmi lokān prati?”
O Lord, at the beginning of a new time, what shall I tell the world?

Nārāyaṇa replied:

“Na navam kartavyam asti.”
Nothing new needs to be done.

Then He said:

“Kālaḥ kṣaṇe kṣaṇe parivartate,
parivartanam hṛdayasya bhavati.”
Time changes every moment; the change is in the heart.

And this was the blessing:

“Yatra tiṣṭhasi, tatraiva sthitaḥ bhava.”
Stand fully where you already are.

later called it became New Year.
The Purāṇas remember it as the moment
when nothing was added,
and everything began again.
