The channel highlights the challenges facing urbanism in the Heartland and how communities are organizing on the ground to overcome them. From transit to housing, from encouraging active transport to creating livable places—there’s so much we can improve about our communities. This channel won’t just focus on how our cities can be better - but also on how we can organize and advocate for the future we want.

Hey folks, I’ve turned on the “Community” feature for the channel. I hope you’ll come here to share news, perspectives, and appreciation for the Midwest’s great cities. To get started, what would you like to see from the channel? I’m working on my Chicago series now and up next will probably be Grand Rapids! What else?

As some of you may know, my day job is organizing volunteers across the country to take action around elections (I work for Swing Left—check us out if you’re interested). So if you’re wondering why I haven’t posted videos in a while, all I can say is it’s a presidential election year. 😵💫
Related - I’m co-signing this incredible video from CityNerd (including all of his dry humor and sarcasm). Watch it and spread the word to every transit nerd or urbanist you know.

Exciting program launching in Columbus. It's small, but it's a step in the right direction. More encouragingly, the Council Members who speak at this launch event really seem to get it!
If you live in Columbus and have household income under $150k, you can apply for an e-bike grant of up to $1,200 here: www.columbusebikes.com/
