When the suffering of our essential being lacks consciousness, it is indicating a need to become visible - to show up in the authenticity of who/what/where we truly are, regardless of rejection, shame, disapproval etc. This is one of the most healing movements in Nondual Therapy.
When we begin to allow the revelation of ourselves, our essence itself awakens. Because where we feel unseen, we are also blinded. How would it be to perceive the world directly from the intimate essence of yourself?

Can we feel the freedom of a bird? The social belonging of a flower? The esteem of an oak tree? The innocence of a cloud? The purity of water? The peace of a sunset? When we can feel it on the outside, we are already feeling it on the inside. A resonant, healing process is beginning.

One could imagine that the psyche is formed as a sphere, in terms of the spatial orientation of our experience. But another way to look at it is as a torus in perpetual revolution and evolution. What was contracted on the inside, later will appear on the outside. A block above our heads, for example, in relation to religion, will be mirrored by a block towards authority expressed through our fellow humans. A block towards nature could be reflected as a contraction around intimacy, or death. All contractions fundamentally reflect a disconnection from our own Source, the innermost center and are therefore formational on the level of perceived reality and attitudes to life.

When we can rest in the ubiquitous, unconditional dimensions of our True Nature, contractions tend to fall away by themselves. At first, this can feel like the development of the capacity to stay in pure neutrality or stillness. The space is neither good, bad, nor colored with feeling which could be why we learned to ignore it. Yet it is pure, unadulterated awareness. When we stay in this space, a purification process occurs in which feelings of negativity, guilt, or shame energetically drop away, leaving us naked in the unconditional dimensions. This is also the space of grace, where qualities of our True Nature (such as happiness, innocence or purity) arise spontaneously like blessed winds. In this, our fundamental work as Nondual therapists is in clearance of what we’re not. We can trust what we are as True Nature to arise from the whole spontaneously and perfectly according to the deeper needs of the psyche.
As expressions of life, contractions also contain the intelligence of their own healing. They are not to be rejected as afflictions, but welcomed home as demons that turn to allies. With creative freedom, it’s possible to affirm the energetic presence of feelings and emotions as subtle material – with shape, form, temperature and momentum. Because our contractions are living, energetic forms, we can interact and communicate with them.
