Hey everyone! I have just released a Udemy course, Godot 4: Introduction to 2D Game Development! This has been an absolutely colossal effort, requiring nearly all of my free time outside of work. Its over 6 hours and 45 minutes of lessons across 40 episodes, nearly double the total number of videos I currently have on this channel.
It covers everything from downloading Godot to building your game out to an executable by creating a 2D, tennis-inspired game. The goal of the course is to familiarize yourself with the complete game development workflow through Godot. By the end of the course you should have a functional proficiency with GDScript and basic software engineering principals. You will be able to improve upon the game you have built in this course, build your own games, or even take your new skill set to other game engines or software projects entirely.
Hey everyone! I just posted a video on getting started with Ruby on Rails development for windows. I had been setting up my dev environment on a new machine recently and realized some of the steps were a bit arcane. That being said, it was all fairly straight forward, so I wanted to make a quick tutorial for it. I have been working on a larger Godot project that I am looking forward to getting out to you all, but in the meantime I wanted to release this since it was so quick. More Godot is on the way. More web development is on the way. More of everything software engineering is on the way! Thanks a bunch to this growing community as we are already nearing 1000 subscribers!
Hi everyone! I will be releasing a video Monday discussing efficiency in programming with Big O notation. With that in mind, what is the complexity of finding which object your player character has collided with in an unsorted array of obstacles of length n?
Hi everyone! The next video will be looking into the fundamentals of projectiles for top down games in Godot. I will give a greater focus to some of the code implementation in GDScript and in C# as they differ more than usual in some places. To that effect, how do you connect a signal in C# via code?
