Here you will find videos about my adventures in the hobby of ham radio (aka amateur radio). It's a fascinating science-based hobby which allows for lots of experimentation and learning, as well as chatting to like-minded people around the world 🌍
The channel tracks my adventures, including operating, experimenting, building & testing radio-related stuff. Nothing on here is complicated, and hopefully you will find it interesting and useful 👍🏻
This is me doing my bit and putting something back into the ham radio community, and my thanks to others, both in person and online from whom I am still continuing to learn...

Three weeks on and the higher bands are still in the doldrums 🙄 I’ll try and get some on-air tests of the multi-band vertical (20m/17m/15m) this weekend, otherwise I may revert back to my test on mid-summers day which I’ve still got the footage for. 🤞🏻things pick up! 😀

Hi Everyone! I was out again early today to beat the mid-day heat and to capture some on-air tests of the new multiband vertical dipoles (yesterday's build video). Unfortunately, the HF bands have taken another dive and it's all short-skip on 20 & 17m and little other than the CW contest on 15m (& FT8). I'll build the antenna again in the week when hopefully the bands will play ball 🤞🏻

Well I've done it and finally rebranded the channel. It was long overdue to be honest. I think it better represents what I get up to, both in the shack 🏠 and out-and-about ⛰️

Hi all and thanks for continuing to support the channel👍🏻 I'm continuing to record anything that I'm up to radio-related that I think will be of interest to you all 🙂 Just to let you know that I'll be changing the channel name and associated branding shortly (sounds grander than it is I'm sure!). It should be straightforward and nothing should go amiss, and importantly we shouldn't accidentally part company 😮🤞🏻

Well 5 years on we’ve just hit the 5k subscriber mark on the channel 🥳
When I started, 129 videos ago, I’d never have imagined there’d be this level of interest in my radio exploits. The views count is equally amazing, at over 728,000. Wow!
Thanks all for your ongoing support, kind feedback in the comments, and to those who’ve just joined and nudged me over the 5k line 😁…and thanks to my fellow YouTubers for the shout-out.
