John Moran

Hey everone, we're excited to finally be able to make our 2023 film, 'FÜR JOSEPH' available on the channel, which we made with our dear friend Joseph Keckler and members of the company here in Dresden. The film was too long to be considered.a short, and too short to be considered a feature. Nevertheless we won several film festival awards in Chicago and San Fransisco, and we hope you enjoy it. And please let us know what you think in the comments.

John Moran

Dear subscribers to composer John Moran. Over the last years, it's become obvious that Youtube has limited the reach of our channel to such an extent, that we've almost entirely given up attempting to reach viewers. About 2 years ago we were surprised to realize they had mass-deleted most of the channel's subscribers down to the few hundred remaining, along with thousands of views. When we attempted to reach out to Youtube as to why, the answer was a vague statement about 'fraudulent accounts' - which was clearly not the case. Despite the channel never being intended for monetization, we then received an unsolicited email from Youtube stating that we would never be eligible for monetization due to what they called a 'copyright strike', despite the channel never publishing work by outside entities. We've also found that the channel is shadow-banned from commenting on other videos, etc. We're confused (and angry) to realize the extent of these actions by Youtube, and wish to start the channel again on another platform. However we don't want to change the nature of the work to fit into a 10 second format, like Instagram, and are uncertain as to where we might find more freedom to present this work. Any suggestions from viewers would be most welcome. We are hoping that all of you can likewise find an environment to present your work and ideas without the kind of non-transparent meddling this channel has experienced.
