Hey, it's been a while. And I'm here to post a quick update.

Whilst I've been away from the channel, I haven't really done any mashups and it's probably gonna be like that for a while. Reasons why are that I don't have the software I used to do them on as I may have mentioned before. I got rid of my iphone years ago and that's what I used to record them on. I could do them on audacity but then it becomes more of a workload than an easy recording/editing session. Plus still unmotivated. Just been enjoying gaming as usual.

However, whilst not been active here, I upload more often on my other channel: ‪@PhayZAI‬. Yes, I did end up creating an AI music channel as it was on my mind for about a year. I do AI remixes, extensions and songs on there. Also, I know there's some people out there not liking AI content, but just to put out my opinion on it, I really enjoy AI. It's a great tool and it can be fun to create new ideas within minutes. But I don't think it should ever be used as a replacement in the media industry from a job perspective. AI and monetization don't go together and never should. As I've stated on my AI channel as a disclaimer, the channel won't ever be monetized and it's for personal use/entertainment purposes only. So anyway if you want ai content then my channel is there and I do make an effort to upload there at least once a week.

And there's my gaming channel ‪@PhayZBat‬ where I like to upload gameplay videos usually where I break a game, use cheats and find glitches. I recently did a fnaf secret of the mimic playthrough last month. I've planned to upload on there often but I guess the motivation isn't there that much so probably will just upload whenever.

That's it for this update, and one more thing: I'm uploading the karters 2 ost on this channel starting today since no one else has done so on YouTube yet. Will be a few tracks each day. Stay tuned!

Ok quick update. Haven't uploaded because I've been playing a lot of games on my switch and unfortunately I don't have a good app to use to do mashups. I switched phones from iPhone to android and the DJay app is a downgrade on my phone. Missing features and auto sync doesn't work for me. However I think I know another way of doing mashups so I'll try that next. As for when, I'm not sure. I guess just whenever I feel productive again.

Been a few weeks with no uploads. BUT, I will surely get to it soon. This damn shiny hunt has taken up so much time and now I'm fully committed to getting shiny shaymin. Then there's Pokémon DLC next week, soooo.....

Well I got my ideas for next uploads anyways.

It's my Birthday! And the channel is finally back.

I'm ready to get making content again. Already uploaded a video which you can find on my channel right now. Revamped the channel with new channel art which I think came out very well.

Also to celebrate, I made a subreddit based on this channel. I just thought I'd give it a try after the crash of the VGMashUp discord server. All Video game music related posts are welcome there as well as ones who like to keep updated on my content, ideas, suggestions, etc. You can find it here: www.reddit.com/r/PhayZal/

Saying goodbye to my old iPhone. This phone has been with me since 2019. Half of my mashups on this channel were done and recorded on it, and on this one beauty of an app called DJay.

It’s my birthday tomorrow and I get a new phone that I will be using to record upcoming mashups. And those mashups you see, well they will be uploaded as part of a special mashup mix.

Coming Back Update (16/08/2023)
Hello it’s been a while since I uploaded last. 2 years have past and I’ve gone through a lot over that time. So this update will be a blog explaining about what to expect.

Channel revival?
Yes, I’m officially returning to this channel on the 20th which is my birthday. I’ve felt positive and motivated recently. Plus ideas for new content gave me more of a push to get back to content creating!

What took so long?
Well 2 years is a lot of time. Around the time when I stopped uploading, my mashup software got an AI update which allowed me to remove and isolate vocals in an instant. Mashups sounded even better than what I’ve made before. But I’d say the main issue was the video software.

I really wanted to change the style of my videos by adding visualisers and making mashup art on pc instead of mobile. I was used to adobe apps because at the time I was at college. However that college year didn’t end well. I was suffering with mental health issues again which is another reason why I stopped uploading. This led onto no longer having access to adobe apps since I finished college early. I went through a year of recovery and found a place to work at, all for experience. That was for most of last year and unfortunately I eventually had to leave. I got so close to uploading again December 2022 because I had access to adobe apps again whilst at work and even found a perfect video layout. Lost access to it and will have to recreate it with current video software. This year I’ve just been focusing on lifestyle changes. And that’s where I’m up to.

What content will I be doing?
The mashups will be back without a doubt, and I wanna do AI covers and soundfont remixes. I’ve been doing mashups in my own time and for 5000 subscribers special, I’d like to do a mashup mix of what I’ve recorded. Will probably have to re-record some of them to cut out the mistakes and edit in Audacity.

AI covers sound great. I think it’s all good content, but AI taking over jobs is nothing I’d like to support. It can get very controversial which I won’t get into. I decided to learn how to make the covers and now that I know the process, I have many ideas that I’d like to take and produce into a video. Don’t worry, I’m sticking to video game music and vocals. You’ll probably see a lot of the living tombstone ai covers from me

And then there’s the remixes. I’ve recently learned how to produce music remixes with different soundfonts. It’s not so tough to do, but assure myself to put in the effort and not just copy paste! Many sonic soundfont remixes in the works.

More video game series on the channel?
Yes. I will return to doing splatoon mashups and content on this channel. I’m over about the drama years ago, just a phase. And I’ll bring in other series like Pokemon and Mario. Previous I stopped doing anything from these series because I was concerned about copyright, but I don’t plan on this channel being monetised. They’re only claims which I don’t need to worry about.

What happens on the 20th?
A few things are planned on the day:
- I return to producing videos and uploading on this channel
- 2 videos will be uploaded
- Channel will be revamped with new profile picture, banner and description
- And I plan on creating a subreddit based on my content

Forgot about updating today. I plan on doing a blog update tomorrow about the channel, content and more.

One thing I’d like to reveal now is that I’ve already got some new videos uploaded that I’ll make public when I return on the 20th. Also, the 20th is my birthday.
