I'm Greg and I make retrospective videos on movies and games that shaped me into who I am along with short reviews and some game playthroughs...when I'm not working my mundane job. I'm also a published author and a self-taught artist.
My latest retrospective video went live last night after months and months of preparation (part of it, admittedly, due to copyright issues with Fox, so I had to creatively deal with it). Either way, the video is up and it's my best yet, I think...check it out!
"The Fly" is a 1986 remake of the original 1958 science-fiction film directed by David Cronenberg and starring Jeff Goldblum and Geena Davis. If you like body horror, tragic romance, and want to hear my viewpoints/experiences with the film, then give this one a watch! Just beware all the puke. :P
Due to some delays and returning to work, I've gotten a bit behind on my next retrospective video...but I promise it's coming! It just may be later this month. Stay tuned!
Almost two years after I published part 1 focusing on the 1958 original, Part 2, the 1986 remake, is nearing completion. Be on the lookout over the next couple of weeks as I finish it up. There's going to be a lot of puke jokes and body horror fun this time...can't wait to share it with you!
New video premiering tomorrow, July 2nd, at 12 PM! Still on my Bond kick, and I went with what's considered a not-so-great Bond game, but I think was somewhat underrated despite its plethora of issues. Sure, it's a COD clone with wonky stealth and crappy cut-and-paste combat, but it implemented some of the EON film history with mixed results. Just sucks that Craig didn't voice himself here, but at least there's some returning actors from the franchise such as Toby Stephens as Gustav Graves, Carey Lowell as Pam Bouvier, and the late Michael Lonsdale as Hugo Drax.
Check out this video and others on my channel and consider subscribing!
With "007: First Light" announced coincidentally with me doing Bond games, I thought I'd do another. This one is the remaster of the remake of the "greatest shooter of all time" based on the 1995 movie. I love N64's "GoldenEye" and the movie is my favorite Brosnan film, and I may record the game sometime, but I thought I'd do the updated Daniel Craig version. It's not bad if unremarkable, but the RPCS3 emulator made this game look spectacular. Coming tomorrow!
While I'm getting ready to return to filming for my retrospectives, I did the other major third person EA James Bond game through PCSX2 emulator...it was fun, if uneven. Check out my playthrough of "From Russia With Love," a 2005 ACTION game for PS2 and XBox based on a NOT REALLY ACTION movie from 1963 that saw the charm of the late Sir Sean Connery playing the spy role that made him famous one last time.
If you're a fan of the movie, you'll probably hate it, but hey...it has jetpack sequences and explosions.
New video premiering tomorrow night, 6 PM! I did the first game, which I loved back in the day and enjoyed...never played the sequel and, now, wish I never did...still, if you love needless carnage and really, really bad renditions of already stale one-liners from movies with better writers, then check out "Dead to Rights II," the prequel no one needed.
Considering doing the 2010 reboot sometime, which I *did* play and remember enjoying...let me know if that's something you'd dig. And check out the first "Dead to Rights" on Gregorious Views!
New video coming! I edited a playthrough of perhaps the best Bond game next to the N64 GoldenEye to be more cinematic (without loading screens) so that it feels even more like a movie. If you want to watch what acts as Pierce Brosnan's last outing and see him fight Willem Dafoe, Jaws from the Roger Moore era and...is that Heidi Klum?...then here you go.
The early 2000s were weird. Still, awesome game from the PS2 catalog!
Two new videos out! One is the other half of the Marvel game longplays I did for the upcoming "Deadpool & Wolverine," the aptly titled "Deadpool" on PC from 2013. The other is a favorite of mine from the X-Box 360 generation (this is also the PC version), "Stranglehold," a Max Payne-like game in the void between 2 and 3 of that series and a sequel to John Woo's 1992 film "Hard Boiled" featuring Chow Yun-Fat. A lot of blood, gore, and guns in two flavors: ridiculously irreverent and stylishly melodramatic.
In celebration/anticipation of the only Marvel movie worth a flip coming soon, and because I've been taking time to play old games via emulator lately, my longplay of the PS3 version of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine," in all it's edgy, bloody glory (or gory) is coming today!
