i don’t get why people always try to be so righteous. not everything is black and white, there are different perspectives and not everyone is going to have the same opinion as you
I DO NOT THINK BUYING FROM TEMU/SHEIN IS THAT BAD ‼️‼️before yall come for me hear me out:
the main argument that shein/temu is terrible is that it uses child labor, has bad chemicals, and is bad quality. i agree with all that!! i do believe most if not all products from those websites are produced that way! but, so is stuff from amazon, ht, spencer’s, spirit halloween, walmart, etc, and about everyone has bought stuff from there, right? lots of items from the same factories as temu/shein/aliexpress are sold on amazon for a higher price, while still being the same shittily made cheap quality!!
also, people say you cannot be alt if u buy fast fashion. i don’t believe this is true either. many alternative subcultures, such as punk, goth, grunge, etc are anti consumerism and against fast fashion, and diy/thrift instead (which are amazing ways to make clothes, don’t get me wrong), but a lot of other subcultures don’t hold the same beliefs. emo, scene, and other more “modern” styles have supported fast fashion and consumerism, and imo i think it’s unfair to lump every alt fashion together as one viewpoint.
in conclusion, is supporting fast fashion bad? yes. is most clothes today fast fashion? also yes!
