I embellished a tote bag with a chirping bird applique taking inspiration from Eph.5:19 that says 'Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord'. It takes our active participation for the Lord to make our soul prosper and so it is all benefits to our being if we consciously tune in to connect to our Maker- in our hearts.
Creating is moving towards the direction of hope -the hope that something good shall rise up from the ashes, so to speak. The cat pillow's inspiration came from a South American paper mache that I saw and took a liking on on the internet. The 2 items below are my first stitchery projects. Wouldn't it be nice too, to be able to stitch one good and happy thought to another happy thought- and to another, and to another until all dreary, anxious thoughts are pushed back and what remains is the story to be thankful for. www.youtube.com/shorts/mR91wx...

While nightmarish, gruesome, morbid and dark subject matter is not really something I'm adept with, I had to rise up to the occasion in support of my high school son's own vision and as required in their English Class, based on Dante's Inferno. Also, I tried drawing like Kim Jung Gi for I too like millions of others, was saddened by his untimely passing.
My first attempt at art quilting is a foray into the realm of aspirations. As long as dreams persist, hope remains; so when life gives you scraps - of fabric...why not create with them, say for example a pretty tableau, something like a window to another realm, to somewhere secret and inspired, embellished with hopeful expectations- where every bit of scrap is part and parcel of it all. I had problem with files of unposted clips I had attempted to film and edit, then I slowly drifted away from there.
