1. The Month-by-Month Journey 🗓️
The development of a baby happens in stages:
• The Beginning (Months 1-3): It starts with fertilization and implantation. By the third month, the "limb buds" have grown into arms and legs, and the heart is beating strongly.
• The Growth Phase (Months 4-6): This is a period of rapid growth. The baby begins to move (quickening), sensory development accelerates, and they start to hear sounds from the outside world.
• The Final Stretch (Months 7-9): The baby gains weight rapidly, the lungs mature, and the brain develops billions of neurons. The baby settles into position, ready for birth.
2. Life Support Inside the Womb 🛡️
How does a baby breathe and eat without using their mouth or nose?
• The Placenta (The Powerhouse): The baby relies on the placenta for survival. It acts as the baby's lungs, kidneys, and digestive system. It exchanges oxygen and nutrients from the mother's blood and removes waste products.
• The Umbilical Cord (The Lifeline): This connects the baby to the placenta. It carries oxygen-rich blood and nutrients to the baby and takes away deoxygenated blood and waste.
• Amniotic Fluid (The Cushion): The baby floats in amniotic fluid, which protects them from bumps and keeps the temperature constant.
• "Breathing" Practice: Interestingly, the baby does not breathe air. Instead, they "breathe" amniotic fluid in and out to practice lung movements and strengthen their respiratory muscles for life outside the womb.

I just shared a short story today about a woman in labour who had a previous C-section, but help was delayed because of a prophecy that she would deliver “like the Hebrew women”.
After severe pain and waiting, she was finally taken for surgery — and both mother and baby were saved.
This story touched me deeply, because the truth is:
not every woman is lucky to survive delay.
Faith is powerful 🙏🏽
But wisdom and timely medical care also save lives.
👉 There is no shame in C-section.
👉 There is no weakness in accepting medical help.
👉 Your life and your baby’s life matter.
