if you don’t know my story almost 2 years ago my boyfriend at the time passed away. It was a complete shock and a very traumatic loss and I shared tiny pieces of it on social media from time to time, but i wanted to wait until i was ready to properly talk about it all. I am in no way fully healed from what has happened and it will probably be a long journey to get there, but i have learned so much.
I promised myself that when i was ready, i would share my experience with grief in the most honest and raw way, even the parts that have felt shameful or have made me feel full of guilt, in the hopes that it makes anyone going through loss feel less alone.
Grief is very personal and everyone feels it differently, but i do think there are many similarities in how we grieve and how it all feels, so you are not alone, no matter how isolating i know grief is.
If you're dealing with this, no matter how long it's been, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. I know no matter how hard we plead no one can take away the pain, no one can replace the hole this has left, or take away the reminders sprinkled everywhere that you'll never see them again. Even though I wish i didn't, I know how cruel that feels. But I also know there are lighter days in front of you when you're ready for them.
