NIGERIAN WEDDING DIARY
We met in the most unexpected way. I was bored, and I decided to check my Instagram DMs while in this hectic traffic. As I scrolled past, I noticed some fine man waiting in the corner, hoping that the beautiful lady responds to his message. I checked him out and curiosity got the better of me, and I replied that DM.
We quickly discovered that we shared the same names - Eric & Erica. The conversation flowed effortlessly, and before we knew it, hours had passed. We exchanged numbers, and what started as a chance encounter turned into a beautiful friendship that blossomed into love.
From that day on, we made it a tradition to keep creating beautiful memories together. We are grateful to God and excited about this new journey.

NIGERIAN WEDDING DIARY
Omowunmi and I first crossed paths at church, where she said almost nothing but chose to communicate with long, silent stares. I was intrigued, but nothing much happened that day. A few months later, fate played matchmaker again. Omowunmi spotted me, and this time, we actually talked. And oh, when I say we vibed, I mean the vibes were vibing, the chemistry was chemisting, and the stars? They were practically throwing a party in the sky. Just before she left, she said, āIāll see you next week.ā I was so excited! That next Sunday, I pulled out my finest outfitāironed it so well you could see your reflectionāand rehearsed my lines like I was prepping for a Hollywood debut. I got to church early, eagerly scanning the crowd⦠but Omowunmi was nowhere to be found. āNext weekā turned into three long months of wondering where she disappeared to. Lesson learned: never leave without getting the number!

NIGERIAN WEDDING DIARY
It was the year 2022 on the 23rd of May which happens to be Chichiās birthday, a mutual friend posted Chichi wishing her a happy birthday and it all started from there:
Ojay - So tbh that day still canāt be explained because the mutual friend hardly takes me serious but on that day took my request to get to know Chichi serious and happily reached out to her for her permission and lucky me, it was granted. After that we got talking and sooner than I could realize she had become a big part of my day.
Chichi - When this mutual friend reached out to me, In all honesty I had given up on love and just wanted to climb my career ladder , make money and travel the world. I agreed to her sharing my number and didnāt reply his message till 24hours later.
Ojay - We did the whole long distance friendship that soon turned into a relationship. We had video calls daily to the point that my work colleagues and boss knew I was in a long distance relationship š¤£
Chichi - I never imagined myself doing a long distance relationship š I was talking with our mutual friend sometime ago and realized that some of the hang outs my friend was inviting me to back then was being organized by OJaY even though I never attended any of the hangouts. From daily texting to daily video calls to sleeping off while on the call
Ojay - Iām happy she never came for those hangouts cause most likely she wouldnāt have liked me back then š¤£, but I think God made us meet at the time we met and in the way we met knowing it was the best way to start our love story.
Chichi - like they say God knows best and at the right time , he makes things beautiful in his time. We became good friends , he asked me to be his girlfriend with a pandora bracelet and a thoughtful card, which was cute. Guess who is getting married to her friend , ME!!!!! Iām excited for the journey ahead. I wouldnāt want it any other way.

NIGERIAN WEDDING DIARY
I met Jude in 2014 right after I finished writing my WAEC and was waiting for admission into the university. At that time, my cousin was dating his friend, and when I mentioned I was looking for admission, Jude helped me get into his school, introducing me to everyone as his ābaby cousinā (lol). I tried to set him up with my friends, but he always said, āWendy, the vibe is just not there.ā Little did I know that love had other plans! To cut the long story short, I had just come out of a really tough heartbreak, and Jude was always there for me during that time. I didnāt see it as anything serious at the time. We grew so close that we started calling each other best friends. One holiday, as I was heading back to school with Jude, my cousin, and some friends, we were running late for our flight. Jude was already at the airport, but when he didnāt see me, he decided to wait, not caring that he would miss his flight. In the end, we all missed our flight and had to get an apartment near the airport to catch the first flight the next day. Jude and I spent the night talking deeply, and he stole a kiss that ignited feelings in me that have lasted ever since. Of course, not all relationships are smooth sailing; we had our share of ups and downs, which even led to a breakup. We tried seeing other people, but nothing worked out. On my 25th birthday, Jude reached out to me, and we decided to put everything behind us. I invited him to my birthday dinner, and when I saw him, all those feelings came rushing back.

NIGERIAN WEDDING DIARY
We met at his favorite bar called The Flat. I walked in with my friend Daria, and Adoteh was sitting right next to the door wearing all black. My friend and I instantly thought he was a bouncer. However, I must say that I thought he was a very handsome bouncer. Daria and I walked up to the bar, and I made sure to position myself to where I could steal some glances at the ābouncerā by the door. I also made sure to look like I hadnāt noticed him, you know, that looking but not looking look. While we were at the bar one of my male friends came and joined us, all I could think was that I hope Mr. Bouncer doesnāt think this man is my boyfriend. My friends and I eventually went outside to have a seat, once again I made sure to position myself to get another look at him just in case he walked outside and as faith would have it, he walked outside (no one can persuade me that he wasnāt looking for me) and we locked eyes for what felt like forever, and then he smoothly turned around and went back inside the bar. My spirit told me that before I leave this place today, I must talk to this man and before I knew it an opportunity presented itself and I found myself back inside where he was. Once again, I walked straight to the bar with my friend to get another drink āpretendingā not to notice him. Just when I got my drink and I started to walk back outside, Mr. Bouncer finally did something! He grabbed my hand and said that he was planning to buy my second round. I told him he should have bought it, but he said that he saw me withĀ me guyĀ friend and didnāt want to intrude. I made sure to quickly clear that up and let him know that we are just friends.

NIGERIAN WEDDING DIARY
Our story began with a simple swipe. I waded through many dating profiles until I found him among the millions of people trying to find love. It was a quiet evening after a long day at work when I decided to try out a new dating app recommended by a friend. Unsure of what to expect, I filled out my profile, sharing my interests and aspirations. For him, the idea of digital dating once seemed absurd, but after pandemic-era lockdowns, travel restrictions, and curfews changed everything, he was willing to give it a try.
We came from what seemed like opposite ends of the globe. I hail from Igboland in Nigeria, and he comes from the tiny, unassuming island of Grenada in the Caribbean. Seemingly from two different worlds, our initial conversation sparked a flame of curiosity, leading to hours of delightful conversations about our faith, families, culture, travel, careers, and shared love for adventure. That world of difference melted away, and as days turned into weeks, our connection deepened, transcending the digital realm.
After about a month of consistent communication and meaningful conversations, we decided to meet in person, our nerves tingling with excitement and anticipation.
Our relationship blossomed as we explored new places together, tried new activities, and navigated lifeās ups and downs. Through shared experiences and challenges, we supported and celebrated each other every step of the way. On February 11th, 2024, he asked me to marry him in the most nostalgic settingāthe very same restaurant where we had our first dateāand I said yes.

NIGERIAN WEDDING DIARY
Our love story began in a way that felt destined. Jamison and I met through his cousin, who was a student at my school at the time. I had no idea that a casual introduction would spark the beginning of something so beautiful. It was a typical day on campus when his cousin casually mentioned Jamison to me, though we hadnāt met yet. I remember him describing Jamison as this kind, reserved, down-to-earth guy, but at the time, I didnāt think much of it. It wasnāt until a few weeks later that we finally crossed paths. What was supposed to be a quick hello turned into a deep, meaningful conversation that flowed so naturally. We talked about everything from the culture shock of moving to the US and my love for Korean dramas to our dreams and aspirations. It felt easy, like weād known each other for much longer than a few minutes. And from that moment, I could tell the was the one.

NIGERIAN WEDDING DIARY
It all began with a single picture. I was scrolling through my momās phone one day, and there she was. A stunning photo of a woman who instantly caught my attention. There was something about her smileāit was warm, genuine, and unforgettable. I asked my mom about her, and she mentioned her name in passing, but that was all I needed. I found her on Instagram not long after, and that was the beginning of something truly special. We connected quickly, our conversations flowing effortlessly. It felt like we had known each other forever. We shared dreams, laughed about silly things, and even comforted each other through tough times. As we grew closer, I knew there was something undeniably real about what we were building. But life, as it sometimes does, threw us a curveball.

NIGERIAN WEDDING DIARY
My journey to Los Angeles in 2021 was one of faith, growth, and new beginnings. I felt a pull to explore new opportunities, embrace a career change, and live a wellness-centered lifestyle. Little did I know, those steps of faith would also lead me to the love of my life. Just six months after settling into my new city, I matched with DeVaughn on Hinge. From our very first date, everything felt so naturalālike weād known each other forever. DeVaughn planned a date at a French restaurant, knowing my love for French cuisine, and I was immediately struck by how thoughtful and intentional he was. The chemistry between us was undeniable. As we got to know each other, it became clear we were two halves of the same wholeāhe truly felt like the male version of me.

NIGERIAN WEDDING DIARY
Richmond and I are childhood sweethearts, bound by a love that stood the test of time. Life took us on separate paths, and for seven long years, we lost touch. But fate has a way of weaving its magic. In October 2022, Richmond reached out to me on Instagram. By sheer coincidenceāor perhaps destinyāwe found ourselves in the same country at the same time. From that moment, our love rekindled, blossoming into something even more beautiful than before, and it continues to grow stronger each day.
