Currently making videos on DIY filming gear: cheap functional softbox and key light, other lights, building a set, creating a youtube-studio on the cheap, that kind of stuff. Also doing videos about testing other youtubers advice on how to film things, lighting setups and other tricks and tips are also in the works, putting their theories to the test: can *anyone* can get into making videos for themselves and succeed?
Probably branching into more general filmmaking over time as I use the gear I've built to film tutorials and how-to's for my Roller Skate shop while documenting the whole process on this channel, hopefully helping other small business owners see how they can easily and cheaply leverage the power of video for marketing and running their own business.

Part 2 of «Building a #fightstick live» happened on saturday, and at the end we figured out how to use the fightstick as a streamdeck while playing a game live on stream!!
This being BOTH a «join me in figuring things out for the fightstick live» AS WELL as being a «join me in figuring out how live-streaming works» we upped the stakes with 2 cameras, talking head and overhead, uncovered several challenges that need to be figured out as well as discovering how the fightstick can be used as a streamdeck controller *while playing games on stream*.
There WILL be separate proper longform videos both on making the fightstick in a more time appropriate 10-15 minute format as well as how the hardware and software can be used for making your own streamdeck for cheap, so you might want to consider subscribing to not miss that :)

Had a wonderful time yesterday doing my second livestream building an #arcadestick / #fightstick that can double as a #streamdeck in a pinch - and now the cleanup of the mayhem begins …
Big shoutout to @Lysemoselund @papabear92 and @pelsinen for participating during the stream, much appreciated - Enduring the chaos of both «building a thing» while realtime figuring out the multi-cam streaming thing as we go shows some real stamina ;)
And if you didn’t hear my answer to the ADC irregularity in the gamepad tester @pelsinen it was because I earlier had enabled it and tested triggering the left analogue stick using a PIR sensor for triggering movement (before I remembered it’s «on or off» and a potmeter for checking if it read the numbers correctly … and I’m looking into testing a IR-sensor using distanse to trigger as well as a Piezo for some Street Fighter 1-action … the IR I’m guessing I might have to run through something else to convert values into readable values for the Pi Pico but I’ll figure that out when I get there ;)

The final part(s) for saturdays DIY Low Budget Arcade Stick livestream just arrived, time to do some testing. Streaming part 2 this saturday around 1pm EST (7pm Oslo, Norway) using #gp2040-ce and a #raspberrypipico to achieve my childhood dream :)
Will do a quick summary of the parts and firmware used (and possible usage areas) at the beginning of the stream, add some more buttons and start on a preliminary case (I need the stick for some other livestreams while building a proper case) and hopefully reveal a *very* interesting usage case scenario with examples during the stream - stay tuned :)

Got some small quality-of-life doodads for the upcoming livestream this saturday continuing to build the Arcade Fight Stick with GP2040-CE on the Raspberry Pi Pico, but still waiting for the capture dongles to be able to grab HD from the cameras which should be here in a day or two … yes @Lysemoselund I said cameras, plural ;)
During the livestream we’ll add a small status screen to the setup, try to see if the addressable LED’s are powerful enough to light up the buttons from inside, add some *more* buttons and hopefully start on the case.
And @EvanMonsma - you might wanna watch this either live or after the fact to get an idea of what the Pico microcontroller can do: it can function as a gamepad, but also a keyboard controller outputting keystrokes - 26 pins available + 26 more with a function button modifier, should be more than enough for your needs AND the device itself costs 5 dollars and it takes 5 minutes to install the necessary firmware :)

Complete and utter mayhem at the workbench after yesterdays 4 hour stream-a-thon building a fightstick for my arcade game streams - so worth it though, stay tuned for proper video on how to build your own :)

Just finished my FIRST livestream, 4 hours, ON CAMERA (not counting the Splatterhouse arcade game streams I did last week) building the first prototype of my new Arcade FightStick using proper arcade parts and the Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller and the GP2040-CE FightStick firmware ... which is AWESOME - so fast and responsive - The prototype looks like trash, which is how it should be, but boy does it perform - if nothing else skip to the last 20 minutes or so of this 4 hour marathon for the testing - worked beautifully first try (except for two buttons being switched around - awesome feeling - now it's 1:25 am so I'm leaving for home and some kebab and some sleep :)
