Book Review 📖

Title: Perpetual Pledge

Favourite quote from the book: “My Pledge is perpetual”

Favourite page in the book: p280 - a very important lesson from the book is on this page.

There were times in reading this book when I had to pause and think about how I would react if my marriage went through such a situation and tbh I don’t know if I would react the same way Emily reacted.. I think this is because most of the time, the first response to hurt and disappointment is not always forgiveness…

Whilst reading, I also had to put the book down several times and pray. This is why I like reading Christian books (both fiction & non-fiction) because it is an opportunity for us to reflect and pray.

Some other notes I made whilst reading the book:

🎯There is power in unity
🎯Understanding that situations in marriage can be difficult but with the help of God, you don’t have to lose hope.
🎯Even when people who have hurt us are going through pain, we can feel empathy for them and help them out.
🎯The pain from losing a loved one is so real!
🎯Having genuine friends who care about your welfare that you can call on is very important!

You should grab a copy and read. The stories in the book are relatable to everyday situations such as finance, love, marriage, raising a family, church, health, friendship, faith, temptation, etc.

I did not expect the ending though 🥹 it was quite a lot for me emotionally. Will there be a part 2?😬
