‼️TRIGGER WARNING‼️

I got s*xually assaulted while vacationing in Key West, Florida with my husband right by my side & we didn't know it until we got to our car.

We were in downtown Key West, Florida, having a great time, looking at an outdoor menu, laughing & snuggled up against each other. I felt what I thought was my husband aggressively gripping me from behind, & I thought to myself E is feeling frisky, & at the same time knowing that it's not in E's nature to touch me like that in public. 

We got to our car, & I laughed & said something along the lines of "babe you must be ready to go to our suite the way you were grabbing me like that." He asked me what I was talking about, & I explained in detail. He said it wasn't him, & my heart immediately sank. 

I believe I was targeted because of how easily undetectable it was. E & I just had a couple of drinks, & we were standing so close to each other, side by side, laughing & looking straight up at the menu, when the unsub took their opportunity to grope me. It was at night & a bit crowded. The perp probably acted like they were waiting in line as well.

We hear about women who solo travel being s*xually assaulted. It happened to me while standing right by my husband, & we had no idea. I don't have any tips on how I/we could've avoided this assault. Sh* humans do sh* things & they don't care who they hurt.
