Andvarr is a sonic reconstruction of the ancient northern world, shaped by the echoes of the Iron Age and the Age of Skalds, and imbued with the spirit of the Old North.
Its sound is forged from natural elements and ancient tools: the pulse of frame drums, the ring of bronze, rhythmically struck stones, the whisper of wind and water, and chants in forgotten tongues. Each piece feels like something unearthed — a ritual that never truly ended, merely slumbering.
The lyrics draw inspiration from runic inscriptions, mythical fragments, sagas, charms and remnants of preserved rites. Some words are reconstructed and others are interpreted; all are bound to the old stories that have survived in bone, wood and memory.
The sound is intended to leave listeners feeling centred, stirred and connected to the breath beneath the modern world's surface.

The "draugar" of Norse mythology weren't ordinary ghosts—they were feared undead warriors said to rise from their burial mounds, guarding their treasures, keeping ancient oaths, or seeking vengeance. Viking sagas describe them as incredibly strong, nearly impossible to defeat, and capable of bringing terror to anyone who disturbed their rest.
That legend inspired my newest track, DRAUGAHER—an epic Old Norse song that brings these ancient revenants back to life through dark choirs, cinematic soundscapes, and lyrics inspired by the world of the Eddas and Icelandic sagas.
