Идти / Ходить in Russian – 👉 new video
https://youtu.be/E78WpBvJBnc
Today we’re learning two very important Russian verbs:
идти and ходить.
Both mean “to go” in English… but in Russian they are different 👇
🚶♀️ ИДТИ = going right now
We use идти when the action is happening at this moment.
It answers the question:
👉 What is happening now?
Examples:
• Я иду в магазин.
• Сейчас Анна идёт на работу.
• Мы идём в парк.
Think of it as:
➡️ one direction
➡️ happening now
➡️ in progress
🔁 ХОДИТЬ = going regularly / in general
We use ходить when we talk about habits, repeated actions, or something we do regularly.
Very often you will see words like:
обычно, часто, каждый день, по выходным, иногда
Examples:
• Анна ходит на работу каждый день.
• Я часто хожу в парк.
• Мы ходим в этот магазин по субботам.
Think of it as:
🔄 repeated action
🔄 habit
🔄 going there and back
✨ Small tip:
When you start describing your day step by step, actions happening one after another, you usually use идти.
When you talk about your routine — you use ходить.
In today’s video, I explain everything with a simple story about Anya and her day ❤️
