Hi My Lil Baguettes,

I’m looking for some fresh vid ideas to distract you from your late-night anxieties about impending doom!!!

More specifically, I’m trying to figure out what I can fill in when I can’t do a big makeover or a bigger project like a furniture flip or I need to physically take it easy. I want to keep you inspired and entertained, but a makeover/big project a week (and sometimes month) isn’t always feasible.

Between the LA fires and the Hollywood strike, LA has been very hard hit these last two years. There is a severe housing crisis and a lot of people are trying to cover basic housings/necessities, so (understandably) makeovers aren’t everyone’s priority.

I reduced my publishing schedule a bit last year to take some breaks, as it’s been 3 1/2 years and 40+ episodes a year (well, 37 in 2024), but the algorithm hath foresaken me for not posting every single week. 😢

All this to say, here are some ideas I’ve been kicking around that are easier or more low-lift for me to produce than a full makeover.

- Good-natured home decor roasts (I hate a lot of these videos — they’re so self-important and pretentious)
- Trends/things I think SHOULD be trends (just more of my style/taste — again, I hate “what you should do” videos)
- Personal collections (things I’ve bought, cool stuff you haven’t seen, or maybe other people’s stuff—like my friend Paige’s Pyrex collection)
- Thrifting with comedians
- Renter-friendly product stuff, roundups, etc.
- Virtual makeovers / design challenges
- Q&As / advice
- Mini makeovers (like very quick fixes for everyday house things)
- Fun home tours of people with cool, eclectic homes
- Store tours (like where I go to Target, World Market, Home Goods, IKEA, etc. and talk about what I would or wouldn’t get or goof around)
-LA tours (cool stuff/places/stores in the city that inspire me)
-Game show challenge (what does this mean? I don’t know but, it’s in the notes)

Let me know if there’s anything here you’d really like to see, and drop any ideas below if you have ‘em!

P.S. We are still so lucky to not be affected by the fires. We only evacuated one night, and Baguette cried for 8 HOURS STRAIGHT. As you can see, she’s back home with her emotional support laptop and still mad at me.

P.P.S. After years, tears, and a pile of various worthless mics that got tangled up in wires, rustled in my shirt, pulled out of their jack, disconnected from their wireless receivers, decided to turn their volume to max when they slipped out of my pocket, recorded two overlapping voices on one track, or recorded nothing but demonic humming and made me SOB with frustration, I finally got a mic that works. Might be another episode or two til you hear it. But thank you for sticking with me and my god awful audio. 😘

Hi Friends,

It has been a profoundly sad, scary, and shocking week in LA. I’m happy to say we’re safe from the fires. I’m so sad to see our city devastated. The damage is overwhelming and catastrophic in so many ways. It’s been a hell of a time, so no episode this week.

Obviously, there are a lot of opportunities to donate to different organizations. A lot of GoFundMe pages for good people. I’d like to take a sec to shoutout two people who have been on my mind all week: my bff Maggie and her husband Erik Hernandez. (BTW, you might remember Maggie from her office makeover on this very channel: https://youtu.be/7uiU3ecQRJs)

Erik is a firefighter for Pasadena Fire (which also happens to have the most female firefighters!). He and his crew have been on the frontlines of the Eaton fire (currently 3% contained), working unimaginable conditions around the clock. Maggie is a therapist who specializes in helping first responders and, when home, is a mom and wife who makes the many sacrifices so many fire/first responder families do.

Not only are Maggie and Erik amazing friends and parents but they also created the nonprofit 809 Fight For Awareness, which helps provide mental health resources to first responders.

Not so fun fact: in 2017, firefighter suicides exceeded line-of-duty deaths. Maggie and Erik started their nonprofit to help combat this epidemic, remove stigma, and support the first responders who see devastation everyday. Otherwise, thanks for the love and support and check-ins. It’s incredible to have people in our corner from all around the world. I hope the city rebuilds. I hope we figure out better solutions for affordable housing. I hope you’ll visit someday (if you haven’t).

Hi my lil baguettes,

Skipping this last week of the year in the post-holiday haze. I hope everybody gets a relaxing break before the new year, too.

The community on this channel is one of the best gifts in my life, and I’m so glad to have it. I feel really lucky to have found a sweet little corner of the Internet—something I didn’t think was possible.

So until the next episode, here’s a little hit of cuteness from an Alpaca farm I recently visited. I also got spit on and am deeply traumatized. More on that another day.
