I fear people need to stop saying “it’s culture not religion!” When defending islam during Afghanistan talk because it’s not religion OR culture. It’s Extremists and Politics. oppression. The burqa isnt Islamic and it’s not cultural to Afghanistan either. One google search and youll find afghani clothing and history. I don’t know much about their culture but what I do know is categorising their current situation as “culture” is false

And blaming Islam isn’t right and is infact stupid too. Because Islam has existed in Afghanistan for HUNDREDS of years so it’s clearly not the problem either.

The problem is the Taliban.

You may ask, “Why these two?” Great question.
Firstly they have great relations, there’s actually quite a bit of Greeks in Ethiopia.
Secondly, history. These two have a long history dating back to ancient times when Ancient Greeks labelled all people south of Egypt “Aethiopians” (such as Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea etc) and they were a group of people the Greeks praised for their Beauty, Longevity and strength. The Greeks often associated them with there gods and called them “the tallest, most beautiful, and longest-lived people in the world” - Herodotus.
The Greeks also admired them for holding up against invasions, “unlike the less spirited Egyptians and asians”

So yah. Also yes because of that quote I’m making Ethiopia the taller one because yes.
