Zee Kutumb Awards: Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan’s Sheizaan Khan Breaks Down on Stage
Dreams, perseverance, and a mother’s unwavering strength came together in one unforgettable moment at the Zee Kutumb Awards when Sheizaan Khan, who plays Siddhu in Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, received the first award of his career. What began as a celebratory moment soon turned deeply emotional as the actor was left completely taken aback by a surprise planned by the Zee Kutumb team. As the award was about to be presented, Sheizaan was stunned to see his mother walk onto the stage to hand him the trophy. The unexpected gesture left him visibly shocked, and for a few moments, he struggled to process what was happening. As the realization slowly sank in that his own mother would be presenting him with the first award of his life, Sheizaan broke down on stage. Overwhelmed with emotion, he shared that two of his biggest dreams had come true in that very moment, receiving his first-ever award and receiving it from the hands of his mother.
Unable to hold back his tears, Sheizaan said, “This is my first-ever award. No words can describe the emotions I am feeling right now. I’m sorry I’m taking time to say what I want to say, but this is overwhelming. What can I say? I am speechless. Every actor dreams of the day when he will receive his first-ever award. I also had this dream, but my biggest dream was that whenever I received my first award, I wished it would be from my mother’s hands. And today, as both my dreams have come true, I don’t know how to react or what to say.”
Making the moment even more meaningful, Sheizaan mother shared an emotional story that mirrored the journey of Ganga Mai from his show Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan. She said, “What a lot of people don’t know is that my journey and Ganga Mai’s journey are similar in one aspect. In the show, when Ganga Mai’s husband abandons her, she starts a food business to support her family. Similarly, when Sheizaan was just eight or nine years old, I too started a food business to support my family.” This heartfelt revelation struck a deep emotional chord with the audience and highlighted the strength of a mother who, much like Ganga Mai, stood strong against all odds to support her family and raise her children.
The Zee Kutumb Awards 2026 celebrated the spirit of aspirational India and the strong sense of community that defines Indian families. The red carpet welcomed beloved stars from the channel’s popular shows including Tumm Se Tumm Tak, Saru, Vasudha, Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan, Jagadhatri, Lakshmi Niwas, and Jaane Anjaane Hum Mile, who arrived not just as stars, but as members of one large Zee Kutumb.

Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan’s Amandeep Sidhu Hails Her Mother as the Strongest Woman; “She Is My Inspiration”
Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan actress Amandeep Sidhu, who essays the role of Sneha, recently opened up about the most inspiring woman in her life, her mother. Reflecting on her upbringing, the actress shared how her mother single-handedly raised her and her two siblings in Delhi, making countless sacrifices to ensure they had the support and freedom to pursue their dreams.
Amandeep credits her mother’s strength, encouragement and unconditional love for shaping the person she is today. Reflecting on her mother’s incredible journey, Amandeep shares, “My mother is the strongest woman I know and she inspires me a lot. She raised the three of us (me and my two siblings) all by herself in Delhi as when me and my siblings were small my father used to be mostly in Dubai. It was a huge responsibility for a woman to raise daughters in a city like Delhi, but she did a truly incredible job and I’ll be forever grateful to her. I feel grateful to have a family that has always supported my dreams and aspirations, which is why I am where I am today. My mother never stopped me from doing anything I wanted to pursue just like how Ganga Mai always supported her daughters to grow and excel in life in the show Ganga Mai Ki Betiyan. My mother and Ganga Mai have really taught me valuable lessons in life, and I hope I continue to learn from these amazing women”

Dangal TV Celebrates the Spirit of Inspiring Women this International Women’s Day
Dangal TV celebrates International Women’s Day by honouring the strength, resilience, and inspiring journeys of women. Known for its powerful and relatable storytelling, the channel continues to spotlight characters that reflect courage, determination, and empowerment. Ranked No.1 globally on YouTube for eight consecutive months, Dangal TV remains committed to bringing stories that uplift and inspire audiences. Aligned with this year’s theme, ‘Give to Gain,’ the celebration highlights the belief that when women support and uplift one another, they create stronger communities and lasting inspiration.
*Sharing their thoughts on women’s strength and empowerment, the leading ladies of Dangal TV said:*
*Tanishq Seth as Radhya (Mann Atisundar)* “Portraying Radhya has made me reflect deeply on the resilience and inner strength that women carry within them. Every woman’s journey may be different, but the courage with which she faces life’s challenges is truly remarkable. Women often balance multiple responsibilities while continuing to pursue their dreams with determination and grace. I believe true beauty lies in confidence, self-belief, and the ability to stand strong for yourself. International Women’s Day is a wonderful reminder to celebrate women who inspire others through their courage, compassion, and unwavering spirit.”
*Prapti Shukla as Isha (Pati Brahmachari)* , “Playing Isha has taught me that a woman’s greatest strength lies in her self-respect and her understanding of her own worth. Women often dedicate themselves to their families and responsibilities, but it is equally important to recognise their individuality and dreams. True empowerment begins when a woman values herself, trusts her voice, and refuses to compromise on her dignity. When women believe in themselves, they not only transform their own lives but also inspire those around them.”
*Nancy Roy as Ruhi (Mann Sundar)* “Playing Ruhi has reminded me that a woman’s true strength comes not from appearances but from the confidence and resilience she carries within. Women have the incredible ability to rise above challenges, nurture relationships, and continue moving forward with grace. Society may sometimes try to define women through certain expectations, but their real identity is shaped by their courage, determination, and dreams.”
*Yashika Sharma as Rimjhim (Rimjhim)* “My character Rimjhim reflects the strength that many women demonstrate in their everyday lives. Women constantly balance responsibilities, pursue ambitions, and support the people around them while maintaining their individuality. What inspires me the most is their ability to stay hopeful and courageous even during difficult times. True strength is not about avoiding struggles but about rising after every fall and continuing to move forward.”
*Manika Mehrotra as Shivangi Tiwari (Rangbaazi Dilon Ki)* “Shivangi’s journey highlights the importance of courage and conviction in a woman’s life. Women across the world face challenges, but what makes them truly remarkable is their ability to stand strong and keep moving forward. A woman’s identity is shaped by the choices she makes, the values she believes in, and the courage with which she stands up for what is right. International Women’s Day is a celebration of these powerful qualities that women embody every day.”
Stay tuned and watch these inspiring journeys unfold every day only on Dangal TV.
