The Verdict: Did I hire the "ChatGPT Candidate"?
Thank you all for your views on my last video! Here is the full story and my thought process behind the scenes.
My Hiring Philosophy: I interview to find the best possible talent, not to filter people out for minor mistakes. I am willing to ignore shortcomings if they don't impact the core responsibilities.

I let them use it: I didn't stop them. I hoped that by using the tool, they would actually find the right answer.
The Real Failure: The problem wasn't the AI—it was the input. They blindly recited B2C information that ChatGPT spit out. However, our Job Description (and the interview invite) clearly stated it was for our B2B product .
The "Fair Chance": I didn't correct them or stop the interview immediately. I continued for another 10–15 minutes to see if they were a good fit in other areas.
The Outcome: Ultimately, we sent a regret letter. It wasn't just because they used ChatGPT; it was mainly because they did not have the required qualifications for the job and the lack of preparation (B2B vs B2C) also played a role.
