My new single, 'LIKE THE OLD TIMES' is out now 🥹🥳!

LIKE THE OLD TIMES is the third of 9 singles from my forthcoming fifth album. Of all the songs on this new album, this one is the most classical in all respects; its composition, its orchestration, and my vocal performance, so it's completely different to the rock / pop vibe of the first two singles I released! It was also recorded with a string orchestra of 36 players, so I've gone all out to ensure that I created the highest possible quality recording.

Developed from a demo I recorded on the piano in my late twenties, I carried the seed of this song with me ever since, until Ryan Louder and I finally took it and completed it for this album. The theme of the song is about reminiscing on my youth and the sense of pure, naive hope I had for my future back then, and now that I'm an adult, wishing that I could recapture that feeling "once again", so it's an extremely emotional, nostalgic and sad song 🥹...

I think those of you who prefer my older songs, especially those on my debut album, Arcadia, will probably enjoy this one. It's a little like my song, Hate Me, but more classical, and more dramatic!...

So I just want to share the lyrics with you for my next single, LIKE THE OLD TIMES, because this is one of the most emotional songs on my new album, so I want to tell you all about what inspired me to write them...

I was incredibly lucky to have a very happy and idyllic childhood, surrounded by a wonderful family and amazing parents who supported me in my dreams every step of the way. As a result, as a child I saw the world as a place "full of hope and dreams", and I imagined a similarly happy life ahead of me as an adult, full of possibilities and dreams coming true...

However, of course, once I grew up and set out into the world as an adult, I quickly realised that my childhood vision of life had been quite naive, and somewhat overly optimistic, and that things were rather harder, more complicated and sometimes far more painful than I'd ever expected!! And that's where this song has come from; it's a nostalgic reflection on my youth and wishing that I could recapture the feeling of pure, innocent hope that I felt back then - "let me feel it and believe it once again"...

I appreciate that my story is not unique; it's an experience that's common to many people. But I hope therefore that some of you will really identify with this song as it's very special and personal to me 🥹.
