Wow… what a wild moment to hit.
5 years. 262 videos. Thousands of miles traveled.
And an entire world of unique homes, creative builders, and incredible people who opened their doors and shared their stories.

When I started documenting tiny houses, off-grid homes, converted vehicles, and all kinds of alternative living spaces, I had no idea how big this journey would become. Every floating home, treehouse, DIY build, earth structure, bus conversion, and eco-friendly cabin has taught me something new — and I’m grateful for every bit of it.

To everyone watching, following, commenting, liking, and sharing the videos I create:
Thank you! 🙏
You’re the reason these stories reach so many people searching for inspiration in tiny living, mobile homes, vanlife, sustainable building, and non-traditional architecture.

This channel is built around the belief that there are endless ways to live — on wheels, on land, on water, off-grid, or completely outside the box — and you’ve helped create a community that celebrates that freedom.

Here’s to exploring more creative homes, meeting more amazing people, and discovering new ways humans shape their world.
Let’s keep going!

Alternative House

Giselle is living full time on her DIY boat. Her marina fee is only €300 a month, roughly $325 USD. Yup - waterfront living in a European city for less than some people pay for parking.
The boat has this warm, vintage, recycled-material vibe from the moment you step on deck. The porch outside is perfect on sunny days, and the French doors - saved from an old Belgian hotel - open into a bright, cozy interior.
At the front, she's got her kitchen and workspace. Everything's repurposed, everything has a story. There's a full oven, a proper stovetop, and a desk where she works with the marina quietly humming in the background.
And right there at the front sits a vintage steering wheel, the kind you'd expect on an old riverboat. Behind it, a small lounge spot with panoramic windows that catch every reflection from the water. Morning light in there hits different - soft, gold, peaceful.
Head down the steps and you enter her bedroom with a queen-sized bed, snug and low to the waterline. Behind a curtain is the toilet, storage area, and the engine bay. It's simple, functional, and very true to real tiny home living.
She even has connections for a washing machine in the lower storage room, though she's saving up for a bigger water tank so laundry and dishes can be done on board more easily.
When people ask if there's anything she'd change, she smiles.
Maybe a slightly bigger boat, maybe one with its own shower, maybe more room for friends to gather in the winter. The marina has showers, and friends nearby have boats with bathrooms, so she makes it work - but having her own would be a sweet upgrade.
Giselle's life in the marina is a quiet kind of freedom - a blend of tiny house living, boat life, and sustainable European harbor culture. And watching her move through her floating home... it's easy to see why people all over the world.

Alternative House

Imagine living in London… but not in a flat, not in a house — on a 50-foot narrowboat floating on the water.

That’s Frankie’s life. For the last five years, she’s been calling this boat her home. It has everything — a farmhouse-style kitchen with two ovens (because she’s a chef), a cozy fire that keeps it warmer than most city flats in winter, and even a rooftop garden filled with medicinal herbs.

But the story of how she got this boat is even more unbelievable. When Frankie decided to start over after a tough chapter in her life, she had no money, no job, and every bank turned her down. Yet, within 10 days, her friends and community came together and somehow raised £65,000 — enough to buy the boat and secure her dream spot in one of the best areas of London.

Now, Frankie isn’t just living on the water — she’s turned her home into a space where strangers become friends. Supper clubs, music, storytelling… it’s not just a boat, it’s a sanctuary in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world.

In the latest video, Frankie opens the doors of her floating home and shares what it’s really like to live on a narrowboat in London — the struggles, the hacks, the costs, and the magic that keeps her here.
