Just a newbie filmmaker talking about stuff he likes.

What do you think these three shows have in common?

Still don't know if anyone reads this, but here goes nothing:

NO, THIS CHANNEL IS NOT DEAD. IN FACT, IT'S COMING BACK.

I took a year sabbatical. I could make up some BS, but the truth is simple - the effort that I put in my videos (especially the last few ones) was not paying off, and I had started a new job. Put these two together, and they obliterated any motivation I could have to continue creating. I still took note of ideas for videos and details about them, but I couldn't muster the excitement to make them happen.

That changed with the surge that the Herogasm/The Boys video had. That was one that I put a lot of work and was part of my disappointment that it didn't go far, so to see it find a late success made me understand that Youtube is indeed weird lol, and that investing in this channel once again might be worth it. I still liked doing it, and now with a job, I don't feel the pressure to be always making something, and freaking out if the video fails (of course, doesn't mean I won't aim for success though).

So here's where I'm at: I was supposed to start making videos back in November, but I hit an issue with Google AdSense that drove me up a wall and took some time to get fixed. Thankfully, all's good now. :)

Right now, it's going slow, but I'm picking up production. The good part about the notes is that I have plenty of video ideas that I'm still excited about! I wanna focus on video essays like the Succession, The Boys, and the Horror ones. Talk about stuff that I love, be it TV or movies, but try to be as original as possible - either talk about something no one has talked about, or if it's something popular, let it be from a fresh perspective. That's why, for example, I haven't done and won't do a video on The Bear (at least not right now). I love that show to bits, but youtubers like Nerdwriter, Thomas Flight and others have really exhausted all the points that make it special, and I would just be adding to the noise.

Those are my wishes, doesn't mean things won't change as it goes along hahahah. I also won't promise a schedule like I used to, especially when work comes back (also, I hopefully get one of my film projects off the ground), but I wanna see if I can get at least two videos a month (including this one). Some months I may release three, it all depends. One thing's for sure: not gonna half-ass any of them.

So, this is all for now. Hope y'all had a good Christmas and a happy New Year, here's to a great 2024 to all of us!

So, I don't know if anyone reads this, but since I got somewhat of an audience now, I thought it would be in good taste to give an an update:

My next video is coming up, something related to filmmaking that I've been wanting to do for a while now, it's just been taking a lot of time, hence why three weeks have gone by since my last video, but it should be up before the end of this week.

After that, my usual plan is to post a video every one to two weeks.

That's all for now, y'all have a great week! :)
