The concert films of Central Europe’s largest orchestra have been uploaded to social media.
In 2024, around 450 musicians gathered in Kecskemét, Hungary, for an event organized by CITYROCKS. Musicians from all over Europe joined the giant orchestra. The youngest musician was 7 years old, while the oldest was 74.
At the giant orchestra’s concert, well-known songs by ABBA, Robbie Williams, U2, Megadeth, The Cult, Oasis, and The Verve were performed, along with hits from Hungarian rock bands such as Skorpió, P. Box, Road, Intim Torna Illegál, and KFT.

“We have a strong rock music culture that cannot be ignored or bypassed. Our mission is to celebrate live music, rock music, and instrumental music—the tangible, flesh-and-blood rock and roll. At least half of our setlist is always Hungarian. The 400-500 musicians here are just a core group of the nearly 1,500 musicians we stay in touch with. We’ve built a tightly knit online community that fosters real connections. I personally know of at least four or five bands that formed during rehearsals or events and are now playing together regularly.
We can also bring in musicians who may live in small villages, playing bass guitar alone at home with no fellow musicians within 30-50 kilometers to form a band with. For them, we provide an unforgettable experience—at least once a year in Hungary—where they can finally play in a real band. That’s what this is all about,” said Ferenc Gajda, the event’s main organizer.

During the two-day festival, there was also a unique “rock” truck parade, unlike anything else in the world. Around 100 drummers, singers, and guitarists performed on three trucks as they made their way through the streets of Kecskemét.
