A #ThrowbackThursday post, as well as a look at the future... hopefully...

Some longtime viewers of mine may recall this specific guitar. It's my first 8-string guitar that I bought as an entry level mod-project while shut in during COVID summer.
However, at the standard 25.5" scale, this is NOT optimal for BR00T4L chugs and riffs.

However, since it's been sitting in my storage for a while, the idea hit me to restore its husk into something usuable once again:
RUSSIAN CLASSICAL GUITAR

Most guitar designs of today are derived from the 6 -string Spanish classical guitar. The Russian classical guitar is a 7-string design that makes for an interesting point of historical divergence when you compare the two.

The Russian classical guitar uses a tuning that will be its own weird tuning video in due time:
DBGDGBD (mine has another low G string)

Unfortunately, resources in the west for this type of instrument are... limited... but I'm still occasionally digging around to hopefully find something worthy of putting together for YouTube! 🤘😄

This past week felt like a whirlwind for me, so I needed a perfect mix on Saturday night to remember for the rest of my life.

I jumped on a last minute chance at getting a ticket to see Olivia Dean at Ball Arena. Having listened for Sade for the longest time, it's so easy to fall in love with Olivia Dean's music.

While I expected a great show, I DIDN'T expect to have my heart thrown in an emotional blender. I was honestly in tears for most of the show, and it's the best I've ever felt with crying in a room full of strangers. 🤘😭

If you've read this far, this post also serves as a production update! I was already working on an Olivia Dean cover, but now I'm dropping everything to expedite said project.
So yea, another production delay, but I'll try to churn out some extra shorts in the meantime. 😅

HAPPY SWEET 16 TO THE SASSY QUEEN! 🐈
I saved this for #Caturday, but yesterday we celebrated another birthday in Libby's already long life. Of course, she wouldn’t have it any other way with her favorite things including napping, yapping, and serving her best and funniest looks for me to post and share.

This girlie has been with us since I was in high school, and I hope to spend plenty more time with her!

NEW BRANDING ASSETS (and merch?) COMING SOON!
Lately I've been knee deep in some behind-the-scenes work for my YouTube channel. Part of that includes updating my branding assets!

Through the power of rubbing two brain cells together and a "keep it simple, stupid" approach, I finally dove in on learning how to use a tablet as a drawing pad with GIMP, and now I'm super hyped to share my updated logos!
A huge thanks again to Katheryn Rothermal for creating the spider design, and for inspiring me to figure out how to do more with it. I feel SSSSOOOO much better in taking this approach than shitting out something awful with AI. 🤘🤣

My current top priority with these is updating my business card. However, I'm also exploring the possibility of low-cost merch items (e.g. stickers, guitar picks) and making them available online via Etsy or something similar.

Moreover, I hope to have an updated channel banner for YouTube ASAP! That's still way above my head, and I'm poking around with other Colorado-based designers on this.

Some musicians may post "I was born in the wrong generation."

However, for me personally...
I shudder at the thought of living at a time where 30" scale baritone guitars capable of tuning to Drop Q don't exist... 🤘😭
