Exchange, exploration and the magic of shared experiences are common threads in Scottish songwriter Mark Mulholland's career.

Adam Jenkins, in his review of the 2022 album “Revolutions go in Circles”, said “Mark Mulholland is a restless force of nature. I see him like an inverted lightning conductor, plant him somewhere, anywhere, and music flows out of the ground through him and out into the world. Occasionally a musician like Mulholland comes along who appears driven to create and record music that is both globally connective and an immediate response to his surroundings and musical companions.”

This channel documents some of Mark's musical encounters, in Haïti, Mali, Niger, Germany, France, Tunisia, Mozambique and elsewhere, with many of the fantastic musicians he has met along the way, including Toumani Diabate, Frankétienne, Tony Allen, Chico Antonio, Kankou Kouyate, Pamela Badjogo, Yan Péchin, Chris Hughes, Craig Ward, his bands Two Dollar Bash, Impure Thoughts and many more.

Here's a video of the song "Wotoro Pousselaw" by the legendary Malian singer-songwriter and guitarist Samba Touré, from his new album "Baarakelaw", which I had the honour of producing. The album is now out on Glitterbeat Records
