## Funds have now arrived

We have now received the funds in the Swedish bank account and are now ready to begin talks with the legal representative candidates to initiate that selection process.

Any talks, calls, messages, irl meeting etc with said legal representative candidates will be recorded for accountability purposes as usual and we'll do our best to carefully determine which firm / lawyer would be the best fit for our case based on a multitude of factors such as response times, familiarity with the fields in relation to our case, direct experience with "similar" cases in the digital space and so on.

## The bank account & accountability

We are currently looking into a multitude of possibilities in keeping accountability of the funds through systems / protocols that would allow anyone to see the movement of said funds. As these systems would require us disclosing the transactions that take place, we want to make sure that the method we go for does not risk harming the legal action and therefore will need approval from our legal representative before moving forward. We will post an update as soon as we receive an update on this from the legal representative(s).

## Timeline

Now that we have the funds, the timeline is as follows:
- Append the remaining information based on newly surfaced evidence into the correspondence to be sent to the legal representative candidates (EST 1 day)
- Have a lawyer I know double check that the email contains everything necessary & that nothing is "missing" in the inquiry for legal representation (EST 2-3 days)
- Start sending out emails (ASAP)

(This post is EXTREMELY SHORTENED due to youtube community post limits, the original is about ~4000 words long, please read it in its entirety in discord gg mojanglawsuit (or discord gg 2bUfXqwK4Q if our vanity link expires) if you want clarifications for a point that was stated here as the shortened version leaves out a lot of information)

Point by point:

There was a possibility Sweden would want taxes for the donations due to them possibly not qualifying as donations as it could be argued that "something is being expected in return"; this has now been resolved & we have confirmed there will be no taxation burden and that we can use the entirety of the funds for the legal proceedings.

We will hold a public stage on February 2nd, 18:00 Sweden time just like when we hit 100% funding where you can ask questions and have them answered live, this stage will also be used to determine which bank should be used to place the funds, where my opinion of which one it should be (Handelsbanken) can be challenged.

As soon as the bank is selected, the transfer from GoFundMe can be done fairly quickly at which point we start contacting the legal representatives immediately. It is precisely due to us being careful about this entire process and taking our time to properly do things which resulted in half the funds not being vaporized in taxes. The reasoning behind not having contacted the legal representatives yet is that it feels incorrect from a professional standpoint to initiate talks that could very quickly lead to initiating the necessary paid legal proceedings when we cannot actually pay them due to not having access to the money.

We've gotten a LOT more information from whistleblowers about things that we already knew AND new alleged illegalities that Mojang & Microsft have been engaging in.

Every single email, call and meeting I have is being recorded and logged so I have receipts of absolutely everything. While I am engaging in as much transparency as possible, I will refrain from naming the specific people I am talking to that could be considered "sensitive" such as accountants and lawyers due to trolls that want to sabotage what we are doing & alive'nt threats I have been receiving which are likely to also be sent further to them as well. (Refer to discord announcement "Names, logs & accountability" for longer, more detailed explanation (although I recommend reading the entire announcement))

In addition to the class action lawsuit in Sweden, we will be filing the necessary documentation to initiate antitrust & consumer protection probes with relevant agencies in a few dozen countries due to information that surfaced; this requires no funding from our side at it is the agencies that will perform their own investigations.

We're partnering with Stop Killing Games (SKG) as our goals align(read discord "Strategic partnership announcement" section for details). One point that I need to clarify is that the funds we have gathered will absolutely not be used for anything other than the purpose of our class action lawsuit against Mojang, so this partnership does not mean the funds will be used for Stop Killing Games; their movement simply aligns with ours especially as the account migration situation directly ties into the narrative of "game developers prohibiting access to a game consumers paid for" where we can assist each other through sharing our experiences and/or knowledge, such as SKG’s experience filing probes with government agencies for the antitrust investigations.

We are now ready to start reaching out to get consultations immediately & will begin the process of contacting lawyers to begin the selection process. This process may take a while as we want to make sure to find a lawyer that would be suitable based on the initial talks & budget projections.

Minecraft Lawsuit Progress Update

So we've hit the funding goal, but now what?

One might say that the optimal choice would be to immediately start contacting legal representation to get the process rolling, but given that we have limited funding we are starting to collect information in parallel while I finish compiling options for legal representation to start sending out emails asap.

Every hour a legal representative has to spend on research / evidence collection is billed from our already limited funding pool. Taking this into account, the more information we have collected & organized, the more funding will be made available for the processes which we as a community cannot perform ourselves.

Taking this into account, we've created a system in the Discord server related to the class action lawsuit (discord gg mojanglawsuit) whose purpose it is to collect information on various topics directly tied to the case that could be crucial evidence in court and help lighten the work that a legal representative would have to do. It is currently collecting general information that may be useful to the case but will be utilized more based on what our legal representation asks us to acquire.

The biggest advantage we have is that while Mojang has to pay a small/mid size legal team every step of the way, we can mobilize thousands at a moments notice; which we will fully utilize as it's the single biggest factor that will impact the outcome of this case given our funding limitations.
