Since Quilbert wasn't able to pick a name for her baby,
we're opening it up to the internet. Either comment with your favourite name or upvote if someone's already put it here. We may have to veto a few as there's some names of departed pets we don't want to reuse, and a few that are reserved for the future. As an example, we're hoping to introduce Miss Munch in the next few weeks, so while Quilbert did seem quite interested in the name Munchie, we need to choose something else for her baby.

We really liked the suggestion to try to tie baby names to their mother's name, to make it easier to remember who's baby is who's.
And it was still a hard decision. But since we know this baby is Quilbert's, and there was so much support for Quillvester and Pinecone, we decided to name this little guy Quillvester, and save Pinecone for Prickly's next baby (who we're still expecting to meet this summer).
We would like to thank Claire for the excellent name suggestion of Quillvester.

We've counted five baby groundhogs! Videos of the sibling rivalries coming soon! The tiniest (pictured with chipmunk for scale) is Caramel. The other four still need names.

Here's a picture of Chestnut taken in August of 2023. The night videos don't pick up her reddish fur very well, but this was a rare daytime visit. So far, she's the only porcupine we've seen with this colouring, so it's our easiest way to tell her apart from the others.
