A Pakistani, Muhammad Fahd from Karachi, has been sentenced in the US for 12 years in prison for illegally and unlawfully unlocking AT&T mobile phones, causing a $200 million loss to the company.

35 years old Fahd and his accomplices unlocked 1,900,033 phones in 7 years.

He used hacking and bribing for the crime.

Fahd was indicted in 2017 and arrested from Hong Kong in 2018, extradited and appeared in US court in 2019, and pleaded guilty in Sept 2020.
