Hello everyone!!

I posted this over on Instagram but wanted to pop a message here as well: there is currently a scam going around where someone is emailing my subscribers and pretending to be me offering mentorships!

I have never offered mentorships. I have no plans to offer mentorships. I would never EVER cold email anyone.

Basically, I think this person is reaching out to people who have a) commented on my channel and b) have their email addresses publically visible on their youtube accounts. So, a bit of online safety--you shouldn't have your personal email address public. Ever.

(I have a business email which is public and I assume most things that come through there are scams. Which is how I almost didn't get A Year in Tokyo published in a German textbook lol)

Also, the scammy person's email was cringe and didn't sound like me AND signed off the email as "Christy Anne" which is a dead give away that it isn't me because i HATE being called that hahaha. If you get an email that looks like it's from me, it isn't. It's a scam. Delete it and block the sender.

Japan's borders are OFFICIALLY OPENING IN OCTOBER!! 😭

This is such a huge announcement—and so many people have been waiting for this for so long. I definitely got a little emotional when I saw the announcement last night.

I cannot WAIT for the group trip that we're planning in May next year! It'll be such a dream to bring some of you along to my favourite places, visit my favourite Tokyo bookshops, do cooking classes and so much more.

AND, for those who are planning on coming along to Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka with us, now is a great time to book everything~ If you're wanting to stay in Japan a little longer after the trip, hotels are quite cheap rn because the yen is so low!
